Gia Lam Railway Factory was built by the French and put into operation in 1905. In 1954 , peace was restored and the factory was handed over to the revolutionary government. In 1970, the Government invested in rebuilding it, funded by the Polish government. The factory campus is over 20.3 hectares wide, including nearly 5km of 1m and 1.435m gauge railway leading to the factories, connecting directly to Gia Lam station and joining the national railway system, 6 production workshops and operating buildings, material warehouses, rest houses, industrial wastewater treatment systems, 10 power stations, internal roads, large regulating lake combined with fire fighting services, green campus, sports fields...
