Airfares have increased sharply.
According to our reporter's survey, airfares for the April 30th - May 1st holiday on many routes have increased by 1-1.6 million VND and by approximately 1.3 million VND compared to the same period in 2025, mainly on routes to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Hanoi , Hai Phong, etc.
Ticket prices for the Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City route are at 2.5 - 3.5 million VND/one way (equivalent to 5 - 7 million VND/round trip, an increase of about 40 - 70%), while prices at tourist destinations such as Nha Trang and Phu Quoc remain high.
In particular, air tickets from Hanoi to Da Nang on April 30th, especially for flights at convenient times, were sold out a month in advance, and business class was also very scarce. Specifically, the Hanoi - Da Nang route ranged from 2.5 to 4 million VND per one-way trip (equivalent to 5 to 8 million VND for a round trip, an increase of about 20-30%). This is also a route that attracts a large number of passengers, and currently, many flights are already sold out.
Ms. Pham Hoang Yen, who plans to travel to Da Nang this time, said: "I booked my tickets on the website half a month ago, checking every day, but all the tickets for the Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City route are sold out. Sometimes they're all gone within minutes of going on sale."
In addition, round-trip airfares on the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route, departing on April 28th and returning on May 3rd, are priced at nearly 5.4 million VND (excluding baggage); Sun Phu Quoc Airways at over 6 million VND; Vietjet Air at 5.7 million VND; Pacific Airlines at nearly 6.4 million VND; Bamboo Airways at over 5.6 million VND; and Vietnam Airlines at 6.8 million VND. These prices represent an increase of 1.2 - 1.5 million VND per ticket.

Checking online airline ticket booking websites, airfares on many routes have increased significantly compared to normal days, commonly by 25-35%, and in some routes even up to 50%, such as routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang... According to airline representatives, the increase in airfares is due to the impact of high aviation fuel prices.
Regarding railway operations, surveys of ticket counters at train stations and on the Vietnam Railways Corporation's online ticketing platform show that train ticket prices from Hanoi to Da Nang currently range from approximately 900,000 VND to 1,800,000 VND per way, depending on the choice of seat or sleeper berth, an increase of about 20-30% compared to normal days.
The Hanoi - Nha Trang route has higher fares, ranging from 1.3 to 2.3 million VND per one-way trip, with sleeper tickets accounting for the majority. Additionally, routes departing from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang or Da Nang also show a similar trend. One-way ticket prices commonly range from 1.1 to 2 million VND, an increase of approximately 20-30%...
Bus fares from Da Nang to other provinces have also increased significantly, by about 30-40% compared to normal days. According to the Da Nang Bus Station Management and Transportation Joint Stock Company, to serve the travel needs of passengers, the company requires transportation businesses to publicly display ticket prices and prevent overcrowding and long waits.
According to Mr. Nguyen Lam Hai, Deputy Director of the new Eastern Bus Station, fare increases of no more than 40% compared to normal days will be allowed during the two peak days of April 29th and 30th. This increase will apply to routes from Da Nang southward to Lam Dong, Dong Nai, and the Mekong Delta...
