On the morning of August 10th, at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Military Telecommunications Industry Group ( Viettel ), in coordination with the Vietnam-Taiwan Heart Foundation - Vietnam Television (VTV) and Hanoi Heart Hospital, organized a free screening program for children under 18 years old to detect congenital heart disease. Attending the program was Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department.

Since 2008, Viettel, in collaboration with the Vietnam-Taiwan Heart Foundation - Vietnam Television, has organized a humanitarian heart surgery program called "Hearts for Children". Over 15 years of operation, the program has reached children in Phu Tho province three times, in 2017, 2020, and 2022. The program, in coordination with the provincial health sector, has provided free screenings for over 10,000 children and detected heart disease in more than 100 children.

From 2022 to the present, the agencies have verified records and performed surgery on 44 children with a total cost of over 1.426 billion VND (an average of 32 million VND per child). In 2024, the program will be implemented on August 10th and 11th at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and the Cam Khe District Health Center. After screening, cases requiring intervention/surgery and from disadvantaged backgrounds will be guided by the program to prepare treatment documents with a maximum support of 63 million VND per child.

Speaking at the program, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, emphasized: This is a meaningful and humane program founded and managed by Vietel Group and the Vietnam-Taiwan Heart Foundation - Vietnam Television. She also thanked the leadership of Vietel Group, the Vietnam-Taiwan Heart Foundation - Vietnam Television, the medical staff of Hanoi Heart Hospital, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, and the Cam Khe District Health Center for their direct participation in the program. With their noble hearts and medical ethics, these doctors have been dedicated to the "Heart for Children" program throughout the years. She hoped that organizations and groups would continue to show their affection and concern for social welfare activities in the province in the coming years.
The program is scheduled to be held over two days, August 10th and 11th, at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and the Cam Khe District Health Center.
