When entrepreneurs boost reading culture

The 2025 Entrepreneur and Book Week, recently concluded in Ho Chi Minh City, continues to demonstrate its effectiveness as a powerful catalyst contributing to hopeful springs in the development of reading culture. From this event, the habit and love of reading are further strengthened and spread widely throughout the community.

1. Developing a reading culture is a matter for the whole society, not just one individual or organization. Therefore, the fact that Saigon Business Magazine has organized the Business and Book Week for the past five consecutive years is considered an important and necessary contribution.

This year, the week continues to honor the "Top 100 Must-Have Books for Business Libraries." This list was carefully selected by the Business Book Council and includes a wide range of genres and topics: from economics and management to professional skills, social psychology, and more.

This initiative helps businesses more easily select books that suit the reading and work needs of various departments within the company.

Authors who are also entrepreneurs were honored with the "Top 10 Best Books Written by Vietnamese Entrepreneurs" award at the 2025 Entrepreneur and Book Week.

This year's Entrepreneur and Book Week also honored the "Top 10 Best Books Written by Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in 2025," including: 13 Lectures by Professor Tiến (Hoàng Nam Tiến); Conquering the Sharks (Tôn Nữ Xuân Quyên); No One Can Stop AI (Nguyễn Tiến Huy); Good Morning (Nguyễn Tuấn Quỳnh); Choosing, Designing, and Nurturing Customer Experiences (Nguyễn Duy Linh); Vietnamese and World Agricultural Products (Phan Minh Thông); Multiplying the Chain of Stores (Phùng Thanh Ngọc); Open Thinking (Nguyễn Anh Dũng); Recruiting the Right People and Using Them Effectively (Bùi Xuân Phong); Managing Volatility and Crisis (Lê Mạnh Hùng).

It is easy to see that the topics written by Vietnamese entrepreneurs are very rich and diverse. These are global issues that affect important economic activities, such as: exports, market operations, or the application of AI in management, building retail chains, etc.

Mr. Le Hoang, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, said: "Written from the perspective and mindset of those involved, these books are therefore close to the issues that Vietnamese businesspeople are interested in, suitable to the country's circumstances and our economic level."

2. Besides promoting the significance of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13th, the Entrepreneurs and Books Week is also a way to honor books by recognizing businesses that promote a reading culture, such as establishing libraries or organizing reading sessions within the company. These are clearly practical activities that contribute to the development of a reading culture among entrepreneurs and in the business environment; at the same time, they help bring books closer to this group, effectively serving their reading needs, and thus contributing to the development of businesses and entrepreneurs.

As the 2025 Entrepreneur and Book Week concludes, many activities and opportunities continue to unfold. According to the organizers, after honoring the "Top 100 Books Worth Having in a Business Library," the "Top 10 Best Books Written by Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in 2025," and businesses with strong reading culture initiatives, Saigon Entrepreneur Magazine will organize a program connecting businesses with universities to build libraries within business and educational environments.

"Choosing books by Vietnamese entrepreneurs to teach students is a way to show national pride and also to convey relatable lessons to Vietnamese students," shared Mr. Tran Hoang, Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Business Magazine.

According to Mr. Le Hoang, another opportunity has also opened up for publishing houses: Publishing houses – those whose books are in the top 100 or top 10 – will use these results to promote and introduce their books to businesses. Through this connection, businesses can order books, acquire books, and organize reading sessions within their corporate environment and among business people. Experience over the past five years shows that many businesses have found it much easier to select books for their libraries through this activity.

“The Entrepreneur and Book Week is not limited to activities at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, but extends to businesses so that leaders can both read and create opportunities for their workers and businesses to expand their intellect and knowledge. In this way, entrepreneurs not only focus on the mission of wealth creation but also enhance and enrich the knowledge of workers in particular and the people in general,” emphasized Comrade Le Van Minh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
