Years ago, I used to wander through the sprawling pineapple fields on those afternoons, gazing at the vibrant green of the pineapple leaves reaching towards the sun and wind. The fields were like a vast, verdant carpet stretching to the horizon. A gentle breeze carried the slightly pungent, sweet scent of pineapple leaves, mingled with the earthy aroma of freshly plowed land. In that boundless expanse, the sweet, golden fragrance of ripe pineapples would occasionally waft through the air, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The plump, golden pineapples, glistening in the dry sunlight, stood out against the endless green of the leaves, making the entire field seem to glow. In the distance, the majestic Tam Diep mountain range, silhouetted against the autumn mist, rose and fell peacefully, like a lifelong friend protecting the homeland's land. In that scene, the heart would quiet down, allowing childhood memories to flood back—innocent, gentle, and unforgettable.
Today, as the entire company diligently practiced tactics on the training ground, I was caught by the first cool breeze of the season. Under the golden September sun, the wind suddenly swept in, gently caressing my face, the brim of my pith helmet, and weaving through the rows of trees. In just a moment, the wind soothed my sweat, making my steps on the training ground even more enthusiastic.
The soldiers, accustomed to the scorching sun and strenuous training sessions, felt an unusual sense of relief upon encountering that cool breeze. The gentle autumn wind not only dispelled the oppressive heat but also brought a sense of tranquility, making the soldiers more optimistic about life, the training ground, and their daily work. In that moment, I saw smiles bloom on the sun-tanned faces of my comrades, their eyes shining with confidence, as if the autumn wind had brought them a new source of energy.
Perhaps, the gentle autumn breeze is always like this: simple yet poignant. It evokes memories, brings the present, and nourishes the silent emotions within each person. When the autumn breeze arrives, so does autumn. On the lush green pineapple fields, interspersed with the golden hues of ripe fruit, in the distance the majestic Tam Diep mountain range, and even on the bustling training ground filled with shouts, the autumn breeze remains the same—a sweet gift from nature. And in that breeze, I suddenly feel my heart become purer, and the bond of camaraderie strengthens. The autumn breeze blows, carrying faith and hope, so that soldiers can confidently march forward on the path ahead.
