When students receive a letter of commendation

Not only students who excel academically, but also those who are good at sports and helpful to their friends receive letters of commendation from the head of the education department.

On April 11th, the head of the Education and Training Department of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, presented letters of commendation to 123 outstanding students from preschools, primary and secondary schools, special education schools, and vocational training and continuing education centers in the district.

Notably, not only students who excel academically, but also those who are good at sports , helpful to their friends, etc., receive letters of commendation from the head of the education department. All the letters detail the students' good deeds and are framed in elegant glass cases.

After receiving their commendation letters on stage, many students carefully read them over and over again after returning to their seats. Nguyen Hoang Bao Anh, a student in class 4/5 of Khai Minh Primary School, was among them.

Bao Anh's letter of commendation reads:

"Dear Nguyen Hoang Bao Anh, student of class 4/5. Congratulations to you, an outstanding student from Khai Minh Primary School, for becoming a "Model Student of District 1 in Emulating the Five Teachings of Uncle Ho".

She is an exemplary and responsible class leader. She is a student who loves reading, studies diligently, and is always enthusiastic in class discussions. She is also an active member of the school's Aerobic team and the "Children's Literature" club. Remarkably, she has a collection of gold medals for her athletic achievements from the district to the city level, earning everyone's admiration. Most recently, she won a gold medal in the city-level Aerobic competition and was even featured in the "Children's Literature" magazine. She was awarded the title of Outstanding "Good Child of Uncle Ho" at the district level for the 2024-2025 school year.

"I wish you always stay happy, healthy, well-behaved, excel in your studies, and continue to develop your strengths and spread them to others."

Bao Anh said: "I am very happy and proud to receive this letter of commendation. It's very different from the certificates of merit I receive at school. I feel like I've been greatly encouraged."

Reportedly, the awarding of commendation letters is one of the activities of the ceremony honoring "Exemplary Students of District 1 who are competing to implement the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho" for the period 2022 - 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Giang, Head of the Education and Training Department of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that each outstanding student today is a "red seed" nurtured from patriotism, a will to learn, and compassion – just as President Ho Chi Minh once advised: "Young people should do small things, according to their abilities."

"Every good deed, every helpful action, no matter how small, will contribute to making your school brighter, your city more beautiful, and your country stronger. I believe that from this program, many more exemplary 'Good Children of Uncle Ho' will continue to shine and write the beautiful journey of education in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City," said Ms. Giang.

Over the course of three years, nearly 10,000 students received letters of commendation.

It is known that during the three years of implementing the "Exemplary Students of District 1 Competing to Implement the Five Teachings of Uncle Ho" movement (2022 - 2025), nearly 10,000 students of all levels received letters of commendation from the Head of the District 1 Department of Education and Training.

In addition, the education sector in District 1 also organizes many lively activities such as: writing reflections on what has been learned from stories about President Ho Chi Minh, visiting historical and cultural sites in District 1 and the city, sharing video clips of exemplary individuals in learning and work, etc.
