The competition was organized by the Books and Action Vietnam Project (BNA Vietnam) in collaboration with Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC). Held for the first time in Ca Mau, the competition targeted high school students in the province, aiming to encourage reading habits, build a community connection space, create an ecosystem of reading clubs , and develop soft skills for students.
The voting portion of Round 1 - Echoes of History - attracted significant attention from students and the community.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang, President of BNA (Book and Action) Vietnam for the 2024-2025 term, excitedly shared: "The first competition season in Ca Mau exceeded expectations with 100 teams from 17 high schools. The theme 'Journey to Preserve the Vietnamese Soul' was inspired by prominent events in Vietnam in 2025, along with the 85th anniversary of the revolutionary tradition of the army and people of Ca Mau."
" The competition not only awakens patriotism but also promotes the spirit of contributing to local development in the context of the nation's rising era," affirmed Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang.

The journey through 3 rounds of competition Round 1 - Echoes of History (October 29 - November 8): Nearly 70 entries from 17 high schools showcased their ability to analyze historical works and draw valuable lessons from them. Round 2 - The Era of Empowerment (November 9-20): 35 outstanding teams will continue to create videos presenting their viewpoints, analyzing over 20 books, and demonstrating creativity and practical application of the concepts. Final Round - Journey to Preserve the Vietnamese Soul (November 29th): Top 6 teams compete through presentations and a shortened WSDC debate, showcasing their knowledge, skills, and teamwork. |
Promoting a reading culture and national spirit.
The support from the community and students for the first season demonstrates the strong spread of reading culture in Ca Mau. The Organizing Committee and judges believe that the competition not only helps students hone their skills but also fosters national spirit, develops teamwork, and contributes to building a generation of young people who are knowledgeable and capable.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tu, serving as a judge and also representing the sponsoring organization PVCFC, shared: “The competition comes at a time when the country is undergoing many positive changes, helping students choose meaningful books that are relevant to the theme. Reading culture is spreading effectively in schools, creating a foundation for many subsequent programs.”
The livestream of the final round of the "Journey to Preserve the Vietnamese Soul" competition, "Reading to Weave Dreams," generated an overwhelming amount of interaction.
Judge Pham Le Thach Thao, Founder of "This is a Bun Rieu Oc Van Vo" (a person with a large following on Facebook and Instagram), commented: "The competition explores the practicality of national spirit, connecting historical stories with the present. The students' confident demeanor, communication skills, and teamwork are truly admirable. This is valuable preparation that will help them go far on their path to establishing themselves and their careers."
“The competition is a true intellectual playground, a place to showcase talent, courage, and knowledge. I hope U Minh High School will establish a Book and Action Club to spread the habit of reading to more students,” expressed Ngo Tin Nhiem, captain of the “Colorful Team” and champion of the 2025 season.

A new step forward for reading culture in Ca Mau.
The BNA PVCFC project for the 2025-2026 period aims to build a reading club ecosystem and develop soft skills for high school students in Ca Mau. The first "Reading Books, Weaving Dreams" competition has created a solid foundation, connecting knowledge, nurturing national spirit, and contributing to the formation of a community of knowledgeable, confident students ready to participate in the nation's era of progress.
