An inspirational reading playground

The contest is organized by the Vietnam Book and Action Project (BNA Vietnam) in collaboration with Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC). Held for the first time in Ca Mau, the contest targets high school students in the province, with the goal of encouraging reading habits, building a space for community connection, creating an ecosystem of reading clubs and developing soft skills for students.

The voting part of Round 1 - Echoes of History attracted attention from students and the community.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang, President of BNA (Book and Action) Vietnam for the 2024-2025 term, excitedly said: The first competition season in Ca Mau exceeded expectations with 100 teams from 17 high schools. The theme "Journey to Preserve the Vietnamese Soul" was inspired by Vietnam's outstanding events in 2025, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the revolutionary tradition of the army and people of Ca Mau.


" The contest not only arouses patriotism but also promotes the spirit of contributing to local development in the context of the nation's rising era," Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang affirmed.

Journey through 3 rounds

Round 1 - Echoes of History (October 29 - November 8): Nearly 70 entries from 17 high schools, demonstrating the ability to analyze historical works and draw valuable lessons.

Round 2 - The Age of Rising (November 9-20): 35 excellent teams continue to make videos presenting their views and analyzing more than 20 books, demonstrating creativity and practical thinking.

Final Round - Journey to Preserve Vietnamese Soul (November 29): Top 6 teams compete through a shortened WSDC presentation and debate, demonstrating knowledge, skills and team spirit.

Spreading reading culture and national spirit

The support of the community and students for the first season shows the strong spread of reading culture in Ca Mau. The Organizing Committee and judges commented that the contest not only helps students practice their skills but also fosters national spirit, develops team spirit, and contributes to building a young generation rich in knowledge and courage.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tu, as a judge and also a representative of the accompanying unit PVCFC, shared: “The contest comes at a time when the country is experiencing many positive changes, helping students choose meaningful books that are relevant to the topic. Reading culture is spreading effectively in schools, creating the premise for many upcoming programs.”

Judge Pham Le Thach Thao, Founder of “This is vermicelli soup with snails and literature” (who has a large following on Facebook and Instagram), commented: “The contest exploits the practicality of national spirit, connecting historical stories with the present. The students’ confidence, communication skills and team spirit are admirable. This is a valuable asset to help them go far on the path of establishing themselves and their careers.”

“The contest is a true intellectual playground, a place to showcase talent, courage and knowledge. I hope U Minh High School will establish a Book and Action Club to spread the reading habit to more students,” said Captain of the “Color of the Flag” team, Ngo Tin Nhiem, Champion of the 2025 season.

New step for reading culture in Ca Mau

The BNA PVCFC project for the period 2025-2026 aims to build a reading club ecosystem and develop soft skills for Ca Mau high school students. The first season of the "Reading to Weave Dreams" contest has created a solid foundation, connecting knowledge, nurturing national spirit and contributing to the formation of a community of knowledgeable, confident students, ready to participate in the country's rising era.

The members of the "Color of the Flag" team will maintain and strive to spread the habit of reading, inspiring a love of books to everyone.

The participation of Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC) is a testament to the commitment to developing a reading culture, improving knowledge and nurturing a sense of social responsibility for the local young generation. The contest has affirmed that books are not only knowledge but also a bridge connecting the community, inspiring and fostering national spirit for the young generation.

With success beyond expectations, the "Reading to Weave Dreams" Contest in Ca Mau province will continue its journey of spreading reading culture, building a young generation rich in knowledge, courage and national pride, opening up many development opportunities in the following contest seasons.
