According to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense , the Russian Armed Forces launched a precision strike on a warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the city of Pavlograd, Dnepropetrovsk region. According to the regional information coordinator, Sergei Lebedev, the attacked warehouse may have contained ATACMS ballistic missiles supplied by the United States.

The attack began with two explosions from Russian missiles or glide bombs. This was followed by a series of secondary explosions that locals described as resembling "bright fireworks." The attacks targeted the 3024th Army unit of the Ukrainian National Guard stationed in the area.

According to several local sources, AFU had, in the preceding days, transported several containers of ammunition resembling the M39 ATACMS ballistic missile, with three KamaZ trucks waiting to arrive in the area.

Currently, the full extent of the attack is still being determined. Numerous casualties have been reported, with many ambulances arriving at the scene and even military helicopters being deployed.

In late April 2024, the United States secretly supplied Ukraine with ATACMS tactical missile systems as part of the March 2024 military aid package, without making a public announcement. According to media reports, Kyiv received approximately 100 ATACMS missiles. The decision to transfer ATACMS was approved by US President Joe Biden.

In May 2024, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, released a map of Russia showing areas potentially vulnerable to ATACMS attacks, which was then sent to Kyiv.

He suggested that Secretary of State Antony Blinken allow the AFU to attack Russian territory. According to Michael McCaul, Russian artillery and missile systems are located on maps and then used to launch attacks on Ukraine. McCaul emphasized that the Ukrainians cannot achieve victory with the current limitations.

Meanwhile, the regional information coordinator for Nikolaev, Sergei Lebedev, reported a missile attack on the airport in the city of Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnytsky region on the night of May 26. According to him, Ukrainian authorities there were preparing to receive US F-16 fighter jets.

Sergei Lebedev stated that another attack was carried out in the direction of Starokonstantinovsky airport, likely where Western military equipment was located. Here, foreign mercenaries were training Ukrainian soldiers to operate the military equipment provided as aid. A "very powerful explosion" occurred in the area of the electrical substation, causing a city-wide power outage.

The day before, security forces reported the destruction of a warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kharkiv. Ukrainian soldiers had deployed it on the grounds of the Epicenter shopping center.

A source on the scene said: “In Kharkiv, the AFU used a human shield tactic, setting up a military warehouse and a command center in a shopping mall. However, the target was subsequently neutralized.”

According to Ukrainska Pravda, on May 26, a UAV belonging to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense set a new record by attacking the Voronezh M long-range surveillance radar station located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region of the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate stated: “Ukrainian UAVs traveled over 1,800 km to their enemy targets, setting a new record for the destructive range of suicide drones.” The consequences of the attack are being verified.

Russian news outlets reported that a drone "crashed" near Orsk and that its target may have been a military facility. Previously, the furthest target attacked by a Ukrainian drone was a facility in the city of Salavat in the Republic of Bashkortostan, part of the Russian Federation, located approximately 140km from the Ukrainian border near Orsk.

The Voronezh M is a strategically important Russian long-range, fixed radar station located beyond the horizon. It is designed to detect space objects and aerodynamic flying targets, particularly ballistic and cruise missiles. This radar operates in the m-band and has a target detection range of up to 6,000 km.

Earlier, there were reports that another radar station of the Voronezh DM variant, located in the village of Glubokiy in Russia's Krasnodar region, was attacked by a suicide drone on May 23.
