According to reporters, in District 1, the central district of Ho Chi Minh City, workers are working all day on the weekend to renovate 37 sidewalks with a total cost of over 355 billion VND to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The most notable items include granite paving, renovating curbs, replacing manhole covers, and paving the entrances to the alleys with concrete.

A leader from District 1 stated: The city center welcomes tens of millions of domestic and international tourists every year. The sidewalks have seriously deteriorated. Ho Chi Minh City has repeatedly planned to renovate the sidewalks, but for various reasons, this has only recently become a reality.
