On December 4, YouTuber Khoai Lang Thang posted on his personal page a warning about fraudulent videos that use artificial intelligence (AI) to imitate his voice and create his image. According to Khoai, over the past week, dozens of people have been fooled by this page, constantly texting and emailing him asking about the fake videos.

He said he had reported all related items such as fraud, use of AI, counterfeiting, copyright infringement, etc. but the platform had not taken decisive action. He called on the community to support reporting to prevent the video from spreading.

"This is a video that uses artificial intelligence to fake images and sounds. People absolutely do not believe the content in the video," he emphasized.

In the comments section, many viewers also pointed out that the fake video was easily recognizable. "You can tell who it is right away because it doesn't look like Khoai at all," one person wrote. Another account said that anyone who has followed Khoai for a long time understands his natural, gentle, and approachable way of speaking, so just by looking closely, you can tell it's not Khoai.

Previously, the male travel blogger also warned about fake sales pages, saying that he had sent reports for many weeks but they were not processed. He posted links to pages that showed signs of fraud or re-uploaded the entire channel video to warn viewers.

Khoai Lang Thang is not the only case of being a victim of fake AI. Recently, many famous people such as Duc Phuc, Cat Tuong, Dam Thu Trang, My Tam, Ho Ngoc Ha, BTV Hoai Anh… have continuously spoken out when their images and voices were used without permission in fraudulent advertising videos.

In a post on November 14, Ho Ngoc Ha said she was framed in advertisements for household appliances, medicines, etc., causing many people to mistakenly believe that the product was the genuine product, so they bought it and ended up "losing both money and health".

Speaking to Tri Thuc - Znews , lawyer Hoang Ha, Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association, said that the use of AI technology, especially deepfake, to impersonate celebrities is a long-standing problem that is difficult to completely handle. This causes double damage, seriously affecting both celebrities and the public.

For celebrities, the biggest damage from AI impersonation is their reputation and image – values built over years, even careers. When their faces are attached to poor quality products, fraudulent investment calls or misleading statements, their personal brand value is immediately affected.

Audiences are also direct victims, suffering significant damage because their fans and trust in celebrities have bought fake or low-quality goods or participated in fraudulent investment models and lost everything.
