In 2018, the Hue City government began the restoration of the mausoleum at a cost of 40 billion VND. The main components of the project were completed in early 2023. After 6 years of restoration, An Lang - the tomb complex of three Nguyen Dynasty kings in Hue City - opened to tourists on August 1, 2024.
The structures in An Lang that are being restored this time include Long An Palace - where three Nguyen Dynasty kings are worshipped - and the tomb of King Duc Duc. Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center, said that immediately after the inauguration ceremony of An Lang on August 1st, the site will begin welcoming visitors free of charge for an initial period. According to the Center, opening the site to visitors contributes to spreading the value of the relic and developing local tourism.
