- Following the directives of the Department of Disease Prevention and Control regarding strengthening health quarantine work during the Lunar New Year and festival season of 2026, the Lang Son International Health Quarantine Center has proactively implemented a comprehensive set of professional solutions to enhance its capacity for monitoring, early detection, and timely handling of infectious disease risks entering through the border.
Currently, the festival season in Lang Son in particular and across the country in general is still ongoing with many cultural, religious, and tourism activities, attracting a large number of people and tourists. The volume of people moving and interacting between localities and crossing borders remains high, posing a potential risk of spreading infectious diseases if not strictly controlled.

Recognizing the unique characteristics of a border province with a high volume of inbound and outbound traffic, the center has developed and issued contingency plans to respond to emergency disease outbreaks at all five border gates currently under medical quarantine, including: Huu Nghi, Dong Dang Railway Station, Chi Ma, Coc Nam, and Tan Thanh. These plans are based on specific risk assessments, ensuring uniformity in principles and procedures, and are ready to be activated immediately upon detection of any unusual situation.
Among these, Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Dong Dang Railway Station International Border Gate are two important hubs with a relatively high volume of passengers entering Vietnam from inland China, especially during peak festival periods. Medical surveillance at these locations is maintained at a high level of vigilance, strictly implementing quarantine procedures for people, vehicles, and goods; strengthening epidemiological investigation, monitoring suspected symptoms, and closely coordinating with functional forces at the border gates to ensure early detection and timely handling, preventing the disease from entering and spreading to the community.
For the Chi Ma, Coc Nam, and Tan Thanh border gates, despite the predominantly goods and border residents traffic, the center maintains a full response plan for public health emergencies, ensuring there are no "gaps" in border health quarantine work...
Simultaneously, information exchange with Chinese Customs continues to be maintained in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on border health quarantine cooperation between the two sides, contributing to the sharing of epidemiological data, early warning of risks, and coordinated effective handling of emerging situations.
At the same time, the center advises people to proactively monitor their health when entering or exiting the country through border gates. Honestly declaring epidemiological factors and cooperating with health authorities is the responsibility of each individual to protect their own health, their families, and the community.
