On the evening of February 16th, amidst the warm atmosphere of the early spring, the Kon Tum Provincial Journalists Association, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, and other relevant agencies, organized the Kon Tum Spring Press Festival 2024 – Experiencing Traditional Culture at the Kon Tum Provincial Museum.
The Spring Press Festival of the Year of the Dragon 2024 is a cultural and spiritual event for journalists in the province. It is also an opportunity for journalists to meet and interact with provincial leaders, departments, agencies, and localities regarding the activities of the Association and journalistic work.

Through this, we aim to inspire creativity and motivate our members—journalists—to produce more high-quality, vibrant journalistic works, contributing more to the development of the locality and the country. The New Year's newspaper publication is a very meaningful gift, conveying to all segments of the population a new year filled with hope and prosperity in all aspects of life.
The Spring Press Festival of the Year of the Dragon 2024 took place over four days (from February 16th to 19th). Notably, this year's festival focused on the theme of experiencing traditional culture. Through product displays and performance activities, the aim was to introduce the history of the land, people, revolutionary traditions, cultural values, and traditional crafts of the ethnic groups in Kon Tum province to a wide audience of visitors and researchers.
The Spring Press Exhibition of the Year of the Dragon 2024 will showcase more than 500 publications, including newspapers, magazines, and special editions, from nearly 80 central and local press agencies nationwide.
In addition, this year's Spring Press Festival also features booths displaying and introducing OCOP products, typical products, and traditional craft products of ethnic minorities in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Y Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, said: “The 2024 Spring Press Festival - Experiencing Traditional Culture is a practical activity to celebrate the events during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon, highlighting the great achievements and strong development of the province's press, promoting journalistic products associated with the labor and creativity of journalists - members; encouraging journalists to strive to fulfill the functions and tasks of the revolutionary press…”
This is also an opportunity for members of the Provincial Journalists Association, reporters from news agencies, newspapers, and media outlets of the province and the central government based in the area to exchange, interact, and learn from each other's experiences to improve their professional skills."
Ms. Y Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, beat the drum to officially open the festival.
At the opening ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province congratulated and commended the achievements that the province's press and media agencies have made in the past period.
Here, the Vice Chairman of the province also requested that news agencies, newspapers, and media outlets continue to strive harder to create high-quality journalistic works; promote and affirm the province's development; honor journalists; and encourage and develop the reading culture of the people of Kon Tum.

Press agencies and journalists in the province need to continue to effectively play their role as "the vanguard fighters on the cultural and ideological front"; acting as a bridge to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and the province's mechanisms and policies to the people of all ethnic groups.
