Many tourists have made plans for the September 2nd holiday.

Tourism in all three regions of Vietnam is bustling.

Many localities across the country are also preparing to welcome tourists during the September 2nd holiday with their own unique characteristics. In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, Dien Bien province has launched a series of large-scale commemorative activities, lasting from July to September.

Highlights include the incense offering ceremony at the Dien Bien Phu Martyrs' Memorial (August 29) and especially the "Essence of Northwest Vietnam - Dien Bien 2025" Festival taking place from August 29 to 31, promising to attract a large number of tourists to this historical land.

In addition, the shifting trends in tourist movements also create opportunities for other localities to boost stimulus programs, attracting groups of tourists who want to take family vacations and get away from their places of residence.

According to reports from several hotels and travel companies, many customers have tended to shift towards resort tours such as Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh , Sa Pa, Ha Long, Da Lat, and Phu Quoc...

Search data shows that the top 5 most popular destinations for the September 2nd holiday are: Hanoi (up 4,418% compared to the previous year), Nha Trang, Da Nang, Da Lat, and Vung Tau. Domestic tours are diverse, and familiar destinations for the September 2nd holiday include: Northern Vietnam (Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh), Central Vietnam (Hue, Da Nang), and Southern Vietnam (An Giang, Lam Dong, Gia Lai).

Ms. Thanh Mai (Da Nang) said, “For the past few years, my family has always chosen to go to the beach during holidays. This year, my children decided to take the whole family to Phu Quoc. I heard that there are many new amusement parks there and the beach is also very beautiful and peaceful. My family wants to have a truly relaxing holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

This year, tourists tend to book accommodations and services earlier than usual, especially at coastal resorts and luxury cruises. The September 2nd holiday falls at the end of summer, with relatively cool weather and little rain, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

In addition, many families tend to choose nearby trips, which are both cost-effective and offer more control over their itineraries. Cruise operators predict that the number of bookings will increase by approximately 15-20% compared to the same period in 2024.

Hanoi becomes a hot spot attracting tourists during the September 2nd holiday.

Rising airfares turn Hanoi into a "hot spot".

This year's September 2nd holiday, with its series of major commemorative events and extended break, is creating a vibrant wave of tourism across the country. In particular, flights to Hanoi are becoming a focal point with a surge in bookings.

Specifically, the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi during the September 2nd holiday is expected to have one-way economy class tickets ranging from 2.1 to 5.6 million VND, and business class tickets from 5.3 million VND and above.

For a round-trip ticket, the total cost for the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route can range from 5 to 7.5 million VND for economy class, depending on the airline and time of day. Booking tickets close to holidays may lead to even higher prices due to limited supply.

In addition, other popular routes also recorded an upward trend in prices. Round-trip tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang start from 2.6 million VND. One-way economy class tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc range from 900,000 to 1.9 million VND…

Despite price adjustments, this level remains appropriate for the peak tourist season, especially on short-haul flights or those operated by multiple airlines.

Following the recent April 30th celebrations, many people are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to attend the commemorative ceremonies and parades leading up to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

Hanoi: The focal point of the September 2nd holiday.

Hanoi, the capital city, is the focus of national attention this year during the September 2nd holiday, not only because of its significant historical importance but also because it is the venue for a large-scale parade and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Data from the online hotel booking platform Agoda shows that Hanoi is leading the travel trend for the National Day holiday on September 2nd, with accommodation searches increasing more than 44 times compared to 2024.

According to information from the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, nearly 14,000 passengers have booked train tickets for the National Day holiday on September 2nd, of which nearly 6,000 passengers are at Hanoi Station, with over 2,700 arriving at Hanoi Station alone.

Phuong Anh (from Lam Dong province) excitedly shared, “This year's September 2nd holiday is the first time I've been to Hanoi on such a major National Day. I planned this months in advance to witness the parade. I think it will be a very memorable experience, both immersing myself in the heroic historical atmosphere and exploring the ancient capital.”

To attract tourists, the capital's tourism industry has introduced many new product groups, especially unique night tourism products. Among the 20 new night tourism products, the most notable are the "Tran Vu Bell" program at Quan Thanh Temple, the "South Thang Long Heritage Route" and the "Path of Learning" tour. These products promise to bring profound and novel cultural and historical experiences to tourists exploring Hanoi at night.

Mr. Tuan Hung (Hanoi) said: “My family decided to stay in Hanoi this holiday. This is partly to avoid the crowds at distant tourist destinations and partly to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the capital.”

“My children are very excited to go see the parade and march in Ba Dinh Square and participate in cultural activities and festivals in Thong Nhat Park. Moreover, Hanoi also has many new and attractive night tourism products that we want to try,” Mr. Hung said.

A special highlight is that Hanoi will launch high-quality night train services starting August 19th, most notably the tourist train named "Five Gates". This train will officially depart on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), leading up to the commemoration of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

The experience on the "Five Gates" train, with its modern design and integrated folk art stage showcasing performances of traditional Hanoi art forms such as Xam, Cheo, and Chau Van, offers an artistic space rich in traditional Hanoi culture.

Visitors can enjoy drinks at the bar and in the open-air setting while admiring the Hanoi night view. The train runs twice a day, including a route connecting Hanoi with Tu Son (Bac Ninh) and a nighttime loop around the city center, allowing visitors to experience the vibrant atmosphere of old Hanoi amidst the modern metropolis.

This train also combines with electric tram tours of the Do Temple, enhancing the cultural, spiritual, and historical experience, and expanding the exploration of the culturally rich suburbs. The "Five Gates" train is expected to become a new symbol of Hanoi's night tourism, contributing to conveying historical and cultural stories through multi-dimensional experiences right on the train.
