New vitality at the gateway to Tam Dao
In the month of April, a bustling atmosphere permeates the alleys leading to the center of La Bang commune. Following the administrative merger in 2025, the commune now has a population of over 18,200 people distributed across 36 hamlets. The image of a green ecological urban area is gradually taking shape thanks to the concerted efforts of the local people.
At Hoang Nong Kindergarten, after class, the teachers diligently practice their performances for the opening night of the festival. Teacher Chu Thi Thanh Lan shared: "We are very honored to contribute a small part to this hometown festival. Despite being busy, we still make time to practice, so that we can bring the most outstanding performances to welcome visitors."
Besides arts and culture, teachers and young people are also active participants in sports . From tug-of-war and stick pushing to badminton and volleyball, the spirit of physical training is spreading strongly, preparing for the Games with over 1,000 athletes competing.

The highlight of the series of events was the inauguration of the Dong Khuan village community tourism site. This project was recently recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial-level tourism destination. This is the result of the province's investment and the persistent efforts of the local government to awaken the potential of ecotourism associated with the local tea culture.
Mr. Hoang Hai An, Chairman of the People's Committee of La Bang commune, affirmed: Having a provincial-level tourist destination has strategic significance, helping to elevate the local tea brand and create a harmonious tourism space that combines experiences with cultural preservation. We are committed to operating it effectively, creating motivation for people to participate in tourism, increasing their income and promoting sustainable economic development .
At Dong Khuan, visitors will have their first experience exploring tea hills and homestays by bicycle. A synchronized infrastructure connecting production areas and services is already in place. In particular, the appearance of comedian Trung Ruoi at the opening night promises to bring a vibrant and welcoming cultural atmosphere to visitors from all over.

In preparation for this tourist season, 17 businesses, cooperatives, and homestay households in La Bang commune have completed the final preparations. La Bang has identified tourism development based on its core values: the culture of specialty tea and the majestic landscape of the eastern slopes of the Tam Dao mountain range.
Ms. Bui Thi Mai, Director of May Suon Dong Cooperative, said: "We focus on immersive experiential tours. Tourists will transform into farmers and directly participate in the tea production process. The feeling of personally brewing and enjoying a cup of green tea amidst the mountain forest is a special experience we offer our customers."
The meticulous preparation demonstrates the professional tourism mindset of the local people. With approximately 10,000 visitors in the first four months of the year, La Bang expects this series of events to create momentum for a breakthrough in the green economy. All preparations at the commune's stadium are complete for the spectacular opening ceremony, affirming the vitality of a united, dynamic, and rapidly developing tea-growing region .
