In recent days, images of a handwritten letter expressing a desire to support a classmate from a particularly disadvantaged background so they can continue attending school have been circulating on social media. The letter was written by Tran Bang Nhi, a 7th-grade student at Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School (Vu Quang Town, Ha Tinh Province ).

Bang Nhi and her touching letter have been widely shared in recent days.

The letter read as follows: "Dear Uncle! I feel like a lucky and happy child. I am loved by my parents and study in a wonderful environment with amazing teachers and friends. I get to learn to draw and play my favorite sport . Although my family is not well-off, perhaps it's because my parents have given us so much. My younger brother said, 'Our family is poor but happy, isn't it?' And I suddenly realized that happiness is in such simple things! But Uncle! Some children don't have that joy. Today I want to share the story of a classmate of mine and hope you can help!"

That's Pham Quang Hoai, he's my classmate. Last year, I came home and asked my mother, "Why does he seem so sad? He sometimes cries, Mom!" My mother said, "Hoai didn't live with me when he was little, and his father is sick. He's been raised by his paternal grandparents since he was a baby. You should help and encourage him."

The handwritten letter was carefully crafted by Bang Nhi, with beautiful handwriting.

"We've been friends for two years, and our homeroom teacher has been very helpful in our studies. But, Uncle, two months ago, her grandfather, who is over 70 years old, was diagnosed with cancer. Things are already difficult, and now they're even more so. With her father and grandmother unable to work, I fear that the hope for her and her brother to continue going to school will gradually fade away without anyone to help. I'm very worried about Hoai. She needs not only emotional support but also material assistance. If you can help, I believe your assistance will make Hoai feel more secure in her studies. I hope you will read my heartfelt message, and I believe you will find a way to help Hoai! Thank you very much, Uncle!"

Surprised that the content of her daughter's letter had garnered so much attention and popularity on social media, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Hien (Bang Nhi's mother) said: "I didn't imagine that content would spread so widely. There were many conflicting comments, and as a mother, I was worried. However, since she doesn't use social media or a phone, we feel more at ease."

Not only is Bang Nhi excellent in academics, but she also possesses many other talents.

Hoai is Bang Nhi's classmate and neighbor, so they often play together. Regarding Hoai's circumstances, she has two siblings; her older brother is currently in 10th grade. Hoai's father suffers from schizophrenia, and her mother left to remarry a long time ago. The two siblings live with their father and paternal grandparents. Their grandfather is a war veteran, and their grandmother is frail and unable to work, yet she has to care for Hoai and her father.

Upon learning of her classmate's difficult circumstances, Bang Nhi wrote a letter and sent it to an uncle in Hue , asking for his help so that Hoai could continue attending school.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Viet , Mr. Nguyen Ba Thanh, Principal of Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School, said: "When I learned that Bang Nhi's letter was being widely shared on social media, and read its contents, I was deeply moved. Bang Nhi is an outstanding student; not only is she academically gifted, but she also has a loving and compassionate heart, always ready to help her friends and those in difficult circumstances."

Knowing the difficult circumstances of Hoai and her siblings, the school always creates opportunities and prioritizes giving them gifts whenever there are generous donations to support students in the school."
