He shared his thoughts on the film and his professional perspective with Giao Thong Newspaper after more than 10 years in the industry.

Hopefully I won't be hated by the audience.

Actor Quang Su: Doing your job with integrity will always have a place in the industry.

Actor Quang Su

"Our Family Unexpectedly Happy" has passed its halfway point and continues to have unexpected climaxes revolving around the character Cong, played by Quang Su. How has he received the diverse reactions from the audience?

I think, from the early episodes, the audience already had some idea of Cong's appearance and personality. Honestly, I myself felt frustrated with Cong, especially his inconsiderate way of speaking and behaving towards his wife.

I understand that the audience's negative feelings towards the character are very real. Seeing how Cong treats his partner, it's understandable that they would be upset.

That shows my performance is good, true to the character's personality and characteristics, which is a positive thing from a professional standpoint.

Hopefully, the audience will only get annoyed and hate the character Cong, and not hate Quang Su as well (laughs).

Has he actually become hated by association?

I don't think the audience will throw stones at the actors. I believe that audiences now can completely distinguish between film and real life.

I occasionally read the audience's comments, and most of them are just criticizing and expressing their frustration with Cong, not with Quang Su.

In Cong's family, everyone loves and understands their wives, except for him. Compared to other husbands who are willing to resort to physical violence, Cong is nothing special.

But when placed in the context of this family, it's different. Many viewers, after watching the film, said, "Why is Cong so awful?", while others said, "My husband is exactly like that."

However, as the series progressed, the character Cong became less "annoying" and gradually regained the audience's affection (laughs).

And personally, how do you rate this role?

One of the interesting things about the script of "Our Family Suddenly Has Fun" is that although there are many characters, each character has a distinct personality and doesn't feel repetitive.

From the very first episodes, viewers could more or less get a sense of the personality and characteristics of each character.

The character Công is completely different from the characters I've played before, such as police officers, soldiers, doctors, teachers, or gangsters…

From the beginning, the director and I agreed on how to portray the character of Cong, from choosing loose-fitting clothes in muted colors, to his hairstyle, and incorporating his personality traits to create a clear and distinct impression of the character for the viewers.

I am very different from Cong; I don't support patriarchal men like him. Therefore, there was a little difficulty at first in having to adopt some habits to "shape" the character.

I've noticed a striking contradiction: many people are extremely gentle and pleasant with strangers, but are always grumpy and irritable with their family.

Therefore, through this role, I hope that the audience will recognize the problem and change themselves if they happen to behave like Cong.

No pressure when acting alongside Kieu Anh.

Actor Quang Su: Doing your job with integrity will always have a place for you.

Quang Sự starred alongside actress Kiều Anh in the film "Our Family Suddenly Has Fun".

Did you feel any pressure acting alongside actress Kieu Anh, who is from a more established generation?

The cast consists of experienced and talented actors. But I didn't feel any pressure and adapted quite quickly.

When I heard that I would be acting alongside Kieu Anh, I was really excited. When I was in high school, I watched her movie "The Sky Ahead".

This project also marked the first time the two sisters met in real life. Although it was their first time acting together, both sisters are serious and professional in their work.

Before filming began, we met to get acquainted and discussed the script, characters, and other details, so everything went very naturally and comfortably.

Kieu Anh is often described as an actress with expressive eyes. Playing the role of the husband, did he ever feel moved by his co-star's ageless beauty?

To me, Kieu Anh is not only a professional and serious actress, but in real life, she also cares deeply about those around her; she's a dynamic and capable woman. Many people acknowledge her ageless beauty, not just me (laughs).

I'm someone who can be easily moved by sad events and unfortunate circumstances in society. But to be moved by someone's beauty is something that has never happened to me.

He has a knack for business.

Actor Quang Su: Doing your job with integrity will always have a place in the industry.

Quang Su previously studied at the Korea National University of Arts.

So, in real life, what kind of girl could make him fall for her?

Actually, I've never shared information about my private life before, which is why many people find me boring because there's almost no information about my life.

My philosophy is that if I want to pursue this career long-term, I'll just focus on working diligently and seriously. I hope to be recognized for my professional achievements, not for any side issues.

Partly because of my introverted personality and dislike of crowds or creating a fuss about my private life. I always want a space for myself, so many friends say I'm not suited for the artistic world or the entertainment industry (laughs).

In the age of Industry 4.0, such choices sometimes put him at a disadvantage. Evidence of this is that despite participating in many films, from movies to television, Quang Sự's name isn't yet truly famous compared to actors of his generation.

Everyone has a different perspective and mindset regarding their profession. The entertainment world is like a microcosm of society; there will always be all kinds of people.

I chose my own path and believe that if I do my job properly, I will always have a place in the hearts of the audience, even if I'm not extremely popular.

From the very beginning of my career, I've always considered acting as my main profession and my long-term passion.

I want to experience many different human stories, bringing laughter, tears, and emotions to the audience, not because I crave the glamour of the entertainment industry.

Therefore, I told myself I had to work hard, professionally, and with a proactive attitude. Many people also advised me to seize any opportunity and take on projects regardless of the consequences.

But my perspective is different. I understand the entertainment market. I want to pursue this career long-term, not just for a few years before moving on to something else.

But, I heard you're also in business; aren't you planning to stay in that long-term? Many people say it's hard to get rich as an actor?

I consider myself to have a knack for business and have been involved in some business ventures. However, filmmaking remains my primary profession at the moment.

Regarding income from acting, it's true that over the years I've been living off my acting fees. I'm certainly not rich yet because our film market is different and cannot be compared to actors in other countries.

What is Quang Su's life like after his busy filming days or his business ventures?

If I'm not filming or involved in anything related to work, my day is pretty simple.

I will spend most of my time with family and close relationships to make up for the times I've been away filming and shooting continuously.

Sometimes I go on trips or camping with my family... other times I just stay at home, eating, playing, and having fun with everyone.

Thank you!

Quang Sự was born in 1984 in Thanh Hóa province. He studied abroad on a scholarship from the Korea National University of Arts while attending the Hanoi University of Theatre and Film in 2004.

He was previously known for his role as Nam in the film "To Mai's Love" directed by Charlie. On the small screen, Quang Su has participated in popular films such as: "Silver Swamp", "Under the Distant Sky", "Love More Than the Sky", "Paper Roses"...
