This April marks the 50th anniversary of the reunification of our country, and those emotions are surging even more.
For days now, the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country has permeated the streets. Numerous banners, posters, and slogans have appeared in many places, creating a visually vibrant atmosphere of commemoration. Historical sites related to the resistance and revolution, as well as museums, have become more crowded. Not only are there groups of veterans, but also many young people and children visiting.
At the Thanh Hoa Museum, the exhibition hall showcasing revolutionary and patriotic traditions from 1945-1975 is continuously open to visitors. Documents and artifacts about the contributions of the Thanh Hoa army and people to the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign attract the attention of many viewers. Many young people choose the museum over entertainment venues to have the opportunity to learn more about a glorious period in the nation's history, about the sacrifices their ancestors made to achieve it.
In many cafes, the owners have meticulously collected and restored various artifacts and images from the war era, such as flags, uniforms, and equipment used by the liberation army, to create visually appealing and emotionally rich photo spots that attract many young people to take pictures.
The trend of taking photos with the national flag has also become popular on social media. Many young people have elaborately designed outfits with impressive words and images that convey a clear message of pride and gratitude.
Since the beginning of April 2025, many fanpages of youth organizations, the Vietnam Youth Union, and personal accounts have posted profile pictures to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country. Along with these profile pictures, the hashtags #proudofalifetime and #50yearsofreunification have been attached to posts about the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
These diverse activities among young people are a vivid expression of the national spirit. Understanding and being proud of the value of the historic victory of April 30, 1975, means that the younger generation has grasped a brilliant truth. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that while the younger generation is proud, they are not naive or complacent. They remain aware of the conspiracies and distorted narratives of hostile forces regarding the immense value and significance of this historic victory, enabling them to fight appropriately to protect it, ensuring that the spirit of the victory of April 30, 1975, remains immortal.
