The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Trinh Van Quyet, also suggested that the Association should strongly innovate the content and methods of its emulation activities; link emulation with sustainable development programs and social welfare goals; proactively advise and propose policies on "humanitarian economics," socialize humanitarian resources, encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to join hands in building a "compassionate society - where no one is left behind"; promote humanitarian digital transformation, create a digital map of vulnerable people, modernize relief work, expand the volunteer network, strongly develop the blood and organ donation movement; provide community health care, especially in remote areas; promote the role of the Association in people-to-people diplomacy and humanitarian diplomacy, contributing to spreading the image of "Vietnam - a nation of compassion and global responsibility"; Effectively fulfilling commitments within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, making positive contributions to peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
Furthermore, the Vietnam Red Cross Society needs to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to build a nationwide humanitarian front, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State, and deepening the relationship between the Party and the people through concrete and practical humanitarian actions.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society needs to focus on building a new generation of humanitarian workers who possess deep patriotism, dedication to serving the people, self-sacrifice, and compassion; comprehensive professional and soft skills; strategic vision, professionalism, adaptability, coordination, and digital transformation capabilities in humanitarian work; and prioritize the development of Red Cross youth – the next generation carrying the flame of compassion in their hearts, contributing to moral and character education and nurturing aspirations to contribute to the community and the nation.
According to Do Thi Thu Thao, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, looking back over the past five years, the spirit of patriotic emulation based on Ho Chi Minh's humanitarian ideology has shone brighter than ever. Major programs such as "Humanitarian Tet," "Humanitarian Month," "Nutrition for Children," "Community Safety," "Red Journey," and "Each Organization, Each Individual Linked to a Humanitarian Cause" have spread widely, assisting tens of millions of people. Disaster prevention and response, and climate change adaptation have made significant progress, with rapid response teams at the grassroots level becoming reliable support for the people. The voluntary blood donation movement has become a beautiful cultural feature, with nearly 7.5 million units of blood donated and nearly 15,000 people registering to donate tissues, organs, and corneas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the "Million Gifts of Great Solidarity" and "Connecting Communities - Overcoming Challenges" movements clearly demonstrated the spirit of "all for the people." The Vietnam Red Cross Society is active and responsible in international cooperation: supporting the people of Cuba, Türkiye, Syria, etc.; implementing international humanitarian projects in Vietnam. The total value of humanitarian activities reached over 29 trillion VND, assisting more than 102 million people – exceeding the previous period by 45%. These are not just numbers; they are symbols of the strength of Vietnamese compassion.
According to the President of the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, the new phase of the patriotic emulation movement will focus on building a strong, professional, and modern organization with many activities that positively impact society and the community, ensuring transparency and integrity; each locality will have at least one exemplary humanitarian model: community safety, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, smart first aid points, etc.; promoting digital transformation and transparency in humanitarian activities to ensure "resources are in the right place, for the right people, at the right time" and strengthening international cooperation, promoting the humanitarian spirit and spreading the compassionate values of the Vietnamese people to the region and the world.
At the Congress, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were awarded the Friendship Order of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
On this occasion, 209 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, during the period 2020 – 2025, received Certificates of Commendation from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
