In early June, Nguyen Van Truong Kien (a student at Hoa Son No. 1 Primary School) happily received a new bicycle donated by the City Party Agencies' Youth Union. This bicycle was not only a material gift but also a great source of encouragement, giving Kien more strength and motivation on his journey to acquire knowledge.
Kien comes from a difficult family background; since childhood, he has lived with his elderly grandparents, but he has always strived to excel and achieved outstanding academic results. "I am very happy to receive this gift from you all. This is a great motivation for me to try even harder in my studies," Kien shared.
Over the past period, many activities aimed at caring for and sharing love with children and disadvantaged families in mountainous and border areas have become a beautiful feature and a hallmark of the City Party Agencies' Youth Union.
Under the leadership and guidance of the Party Committee of the City's Party Agencies, the Youth Union of the City's Party Agencies promotes a spirit of initiative and volunteerism, spreading the positive values of youth to disadvantaged areas.
Secretary of the City Party Agencies' Youth Union, Le Van Tan, shared: “We clearly define the responsibility of youth union members in accompanying the community, especially in areas facing many difficulties. The activities of the Youth Union are not just about giving gifts, but more importantly, about bringing people confidence, encouragement, and motivation to strive for a better life.”
Connecting the movement with practical needs.
Currently, the City Party Agencies' Youth Union has 5 affiliated organizations with nearly 500 members. Although the force is not very large, the young people are always ready to go to remote areas, with the spirit of "wherever youth are needed, youth will be there; wherever there are difficulties, youth will overcome them."
In 2025, the City Party Agencies' Youth Union issued many practical and specific action programs, such as the plan for organizing Youth Union activities in 2025, organizing Youth Month 2025, and the "Journey to the Source" program. These serve as guiding principles for activities throughout the year, demonstrating creativity, proactiveness, practicality, and suitability to each locality.
Notably, the City Party Committee's delegation organized the donation of a youth project worth 30 million VND in Nam Giang district; provided bicycles and livelihood support to disabled youth households; and presented gifts to underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties, with a total budget of 46 million VND.
Youth Month activities, "Summer Volunteer Program," and "Gratitude and Remembrance" programs are regularly implemented, contributing to the positive impact of young people in the community.
In early March, the City Party Agencies' Youth Union organized a Youth Month campaign combined with a tree planting festival at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Hoa Phu commune, and also handed over livestock and plant seedlings to the commune's Youth Union with a total cost of 28.5 million VND.
Recently, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), the delegation coordinated a candlelight vigil at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Hoa Tien commune; and visited and presented 10 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, each gift worth 1 million VND.
These meaningful activities help union members improve themselves and express gratitude and remembrance to the older generations who sacrificed for the country.
The 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign left its mark with the "Lighting" project in Song Vang commune, celebrating the successful conclusion of the Party Congress of the City's Party Agencies, with a total budget of 40 million VND.
Besides social welfare activities, young people are also focusing on applying technology and digital transformation to the way the Youth Union operates.
From organizing online propaganda sessions to social media campaigns, the spirit of creativity and innovation has helped the Youth Union of the city's Party agencies expand its reach and attract the attention and support of a large number of young union members.
Mr. Le Van Tan said: “Every activity, every project, whether big or small, reflects the dedication and responsibility of young people. We will continue to innovate our methods of operation, leverage the energy of youth, spread humanitarian values, and contribute to the city's efforts to better care for disadvantaged areas, so that no one is left behind.”
