
On the morning of September 7, at Luu Gia Palace Restaurant ( Hai Phong ), Hai Phong Center for Calligraphy, Parallel Sentences and Han - Nom Studies held a summary and award ceremony for the 2025 Hai Phong City Calligraphy Competition.

After nearly 4 months of launching, the contest attracted 215 works by 56 authors from 11 provinces and cities. The works are rich in materials from Do paper, silk, wood, curtains, to porcelain and diverse in expression, from Han - Nom to Vietnamese calligraphy. Many compositions are associated with the theme "Hai Phong is loyal and determined to win", depicting the tradition of building and defending the country and the strong growth of the Port City.

The organizers noted the participation of many generations, from 80-year-old authors to 13-year-old teenagers, creating a space where tradition and youth converge. In particular, many works impressed with their unique creativity: gold-plated calligraphy, 3D embossed letters, combining ink and peony in each letter.

The jury awarded 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 16 third prizes and 26 consolation prizes, along with certificates of participation to the authors. The contest left its mark as a meaningful cultural and artistic activity, contributing to spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese calligraphy, fostering love for letters and pride in the heroic city of Hai Phong.
