On this occasion, the Grand Mercure Hanoi Hotel (Cat Linh Street) is introducing a menu specially designed for National Day, including cocktails themed "Ba Dinh," afternoon tea sets themed "Freedom," and a "Revolution" menu featuring simple wartime dishes. The dishes will be beautifully decorated with images of the red flag with a yellow star and slogans related to September 2nd. A representative from the Grand Mercure Hanoi Hotel stated that the food and beverage menus were specially designed by the chefs to evoke familiar images of the nation for guests, while also introducing foreign visitors to the simple, traditional dishes of Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Thang Long Opera Hotel (Tong Dan Street) also introduced a "National Day" themed afternoon tea set menu for guests, beautifully decorated with the red flag and yellow star. The drinks were also prepared with predominantly red and yellow colors, accompanied by familiar Vietnamese snacks such as peanut candy and sesame candy. In addition, the hotel also designed an "Independence" booth and a viewing area for guests to watch the National Day fireworks display.
Recently, a "patriotic" chicken pho restaurant has gone viral on social media, inspiring diners. It's the Thật Tâm chicken pho restaurant on Đặng Tiến Đông street (Đống Đa ward). Each bowl of pho features an image of the Vietnamese flag (red with a yellow star) made from pho noodles. Owner Hồ Đức Mạnh said that on August 14th, he launched this "independence-themed pho bowl" for the first time after several trials, keeping the price the same. The flag is hand-cut from pho noodles, dyed with food coloring to create red and yellow hues, molded into shape, and then placed on the bowl when served. "Everyone has different ways to express their love for the country on this occasion. As a food establishment, I want to spread the spirit of patriotism and special emotions to customers visiting the restaurant during the September 2nd holiday," Mạnh shared.
Not only Thật Tâm chicken pho restaurant, but many cafes and bakeries in Hanoi have also quickly joined the patriotic trend. Drinks and pastries inspired by the red and yellow star have created a strong buzz on social media during the 80th anniversary of National Day.
