Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Cong, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Binh Loi commune, said that in Binh Loi commune, initially there were only a few hectares of experimental yellow apricot blossom trees. Farmers have persistently and diligently learned the techniques of planting and caring for apricot blossoms. Thanks to the suitable soil and climate, the yellow apricot blossom trees here grow well, produce beautiful flowers, and gradually replace the barren fragrant rice and sugarcane fields.

The Bình Lợi yellow apricot blossom village has now developed into a very large-scale area, covering over 655 hectares with hundreds of farming households and gardens, becoming the largest yellow apricot blossom growing region in the South, and even the whole country.

According to Ms. Cong, in addition to focusing on expanding the area, the people of Binh Loi are also constantly researching and crossbreeding, creating high-quality apricot blossom varieties that captivate people's hearts, such as Thu Duc apricot blossom, Binh Loi super-flower, thorny apricot blossom, cluster apricot blossom, etc.

Those names have become brands, affirming the position of Binh Loi yellow apricot blossom village in the market… In addition, the Binh Loi yellow apricot blossom brand is now also associated with mutated apricot varieties, super-flowering apricots, and special bonsai apricots found only in Binh Loi yellow apricot blossom village.

Thanks to cultivating yellow apricot blossoms, many farmers in this new rural commune have earned a more comfortable income, and some have even become wealthy.

Faced with the situation where many localities are also rapidly expanding the area for growing yellow apricot blossoms, leading to an oversupply, many farmers in Binh Loi yellow apricot blossom village have intensified the development and propagation of apricot blossom varieties unique to the locality, including bonsai apricot blossoms. As a result, the market for their produce has not been significantly affected.

In addition, local yellow apricot blossom growers and yellow apricot blossom cooperatives are constantly striving to establish linkages in sales to ensure market access.

According to Mr. Nguyen Pham Minh Giang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Loi commune, Binh Chanh district is currently developing an ecotourism project, creating tourist destinations associated with apricot blossom trees. This will open up many new avenues for the development of apricot blossom trees in particular and agricultural production in general in the locality.
