In the first 6 months of the year, the Center for Human Resource Demand Forecasting and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City (Falmi, under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the city) conducted a survey on the recruitment needs of 43,000 businesses with nearly 154,000 job positions and more than 76,000 people looking for jobs.
The results show that the job search needs of workers are mainly concentrated at the salary level of 10-15 million VND/month (accounting for 44.26%), followed by the salary level of 15-20 million VND/month (accounting for 24.51%), the salary level over 20 million VND/month also accounts for 19.06%, the salary level of 5-10 million VND/month is proposed by only 11.49% of job seekers, the lowest salary level is under 5 million VND/month proposed by only 0.68% of job seekers.
This statistic shows that there is a fairly large change in the demand for jobs according to the salary of workers.
Falmi's 2022 survey results show that the demand for jobs among workers is highest at salaries above 20 million VND per month (accounting for 38.97%). This year, the group of job seekers requesting this high salary has decreased sharply, down to 19.06%, which is only half of what it was in 2022.
Not only that, the group of job seekers with a good salary (15-20 million VND/month) in the first 6 months of 2023 also did not increase much, only nearly 7% higher than in 2022.
The strongest increase is in the group of workers looking for jobs with average salaries (10-15 million VND/month), the increase rate compared to 2022 is more than 18%.
This change in the number of workers looking for jobs has helped the balance of labor supply and demand in terms of salary to be more balanced than in 2022. The ratio of job seekers by salary is closer to the recruitment needs of businesses.
Specifically, at high salary levels (over 20 million VND/month), businesses need to recruit more than 28,000 jobs, accounting for 18.51% of total human resource demand, nearly equal to the job search rate (19.06%).
At a fairly good salary level (15-20 million VND/month), businesses need nearly 25,000 jobs, accounting for 15.99% of total human resource demand, which is not too low compared to the demand of job seekers.
Only in the low-wage group (under 5 million VND/month) is there still a large gap between supply and demand. Enterprises need more than 23,000 jobs, accounting for 15.01% of total human resource demand, but only 0.68% of job seekers choose this salary level.
For the low-wage group, businesses mainly pay for common labor positions such as waiters, kitchen assistants, bus assistants, marketing staff, janitors, security guards, supermarket sales staff, etc. However, in this group of jobs, many job seekers require a salary higher than 5 million VND/month.
