More than 20 years later, looking back on that journey, Le Be La smiles as the worries of the past have been replaced by gratitude. "Ho Chi Minh City gave me work, friends, relationships, and so many good things. I am always proud and grateful to this city," Le Be La shared.
According to Le Be La, like millions of people from all over the country, she has chosen Ho Chi Minh City as her second home.
Every street corner, every road is associated with memories from her first hesitant steps to her adulthood and starting a family. For her, the 50th anniversary feature of Ho Chi Minh City in Tuoi Tre newspaper is a meaningful way to preserve and evoke beautiful memories of the city.

Le Be La still vividly remembers the day she left her hometown to start university. Her entire family and relatives shed tears during the farewell, everyone worried that she might fall into the traps of city life.
That day, the floodwaters rose so high that motorbikes couldn't pass. Her father had to drive a tractor carrying his wife, Le Be La, and her younger sister, Le Chi Na, over 16 kilometers to Buon Ma Thuot to catch a bus to Ho Chi Minh City.
"Holding the 1 million dong my parents gave me, I was both excited and nervous. What I feared most was that if I went down the wrong path, I would disappoint my parents and become a bad example for my younger siblings," the actress recalled.
The reality turned out to be completely different from the initial worries. Ho Chi Minh City offered Le Be La a conducive learning environment, dedicated teachers, supportive colleagues, and numerous opportunities for career development.
Through perseverance and relentless effort, she gradually established her name through many films such as " The Sun Gate , " "Staying in the World," and "Thunderstorm in the Rain ."
Following Le Be La, her siblings also moved to Ho Chi Minh City to study and pursue careers. Her younger sister, Le Chi Na, is currently active in acting and directing, while her younger brother works as a cinematographer.

Le Be La repays life's debt.
Le Be La recounts that what she enjoys most is sitting alone in a cafe, quietly watching the city change. Especially during Tet (Lunar New Year), when the streets become deserted, she feels even more strongly how much Ho Chi Minh City has sheltered its people who are far from home.
"When I first started my career, I lived in a small rented room in a poor working-class neighborhood. Every morning from 4 a.m., I would see people busy trying to make a living. No one knew where they came from, but everyone worked hard. Many families, after years of hard work, were able to buy houses and consider Ho Chi Minh City their hometown," she recounted.
Similarly, the five sisters of the Le Be La family recently pooled their savings from years of working in Ho Chi Minh City to rebuild their house in their hometown into an ancestral temple – a place where the whole family can return to reunite after their journey of earning a living.
After two decades of living there, Le Be La feels that Ho Chi Minh City is changing every day with increasingly modern transportation infrastructure, many new constructions, and a strong pace of development. What she cherishes most is the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and the tradition of "helping those in need" among the city's people.

Besides her artistic activities, Le Be La is also actively involved in social activities. She regularly does charity work, joins the "Love Trash" association, plants trees, picks up trash, and contributes to maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful environment.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when artistic work was temporarily suspended, the actress personally delivered meals and essential supplies to people in need.
"Some people say I'm 'crazy' for going out into the streets during the pandemic. But how could I be as 'crazy' as the doctors and other frontline workers who are saving lives day and night?"
"I simply thought that Ho Chi Minh City has sheltered so many people from all over the country, so if I can contribute a small effort to make the city cleaner and more beautiful, continuing that spirit of kindness, it's also a way to repay life's kindness," Lê Bê La shared.
