On March 28th, at the historical site of the resistance war against the French in the Nhot forest area, Gia Phu commune, the Mong ethnic group held the 2026 Harvest Festival, attracting a large number of local people and tourists.

The festival consists of two parts: the ceremonial part and the festive part. In the ceremonial part, through theatrical performances, the leaders and people of Gia Phu commune organize a harvest prayer ceremony, performed by a respected shaman from Gia Phu commune. The offerings include: beef, a bowl of soup, sticky rice, rice cakes, wine, fruits, and an incense burner. The shaman performs the ceremony, expressing respect and gratitude to heaven and earth, praying for the mountain and land spirits to bless the people with a healthy and peaceful new year, a bountiful harvest, full granaries of corn and rice, and thriving livestock and poultry.

The festival included traditional folk games such as khene dance, pao throwing, tu lu game, and crossbow shooting, which received enthusiastic support and encouragement from the local people and tourists.

At the Mong ethnic group's harvest festival, Gia Phu commune also organizes cultural experience activities such as: Mong ethnic people's khene dance; brocade weaving, rice cake making; display of typical agricultural products: organic rice, OCOP products such as dried meat, herbal wine products, dried bamboo shoots…
