The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province is organizing an exhibition of peach blossom trees participating in the "Beautiful Peach Blossom Tree of Lang Son in the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026" competition. The aim is to select beautiful and high-quality peach blossom trees to honor, introduce, and promote to the people and tourists visiting Lang Son province during the spring season.

According to Tien Phong newspaper reporters, all the peach blossom trees have been gathered at Hung Vuong pedestrian street as part of the 2026 Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival. Fifty-one wards and communes in Lang Son province have sent trees to participate in the selection of the "peach blossom queen".

The peach trees participating in the competition must be grown in the Lang Son region and are divided into three groups: light pink peach, dark pink peach, and seven-inch peach.

The peach trees participating in the competition, in all sorts of shapes and sizes, are blooming profusely.

Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, said that the competition attracted over 70 carefully selected peach blossom trees, creating a vibrant spring atmosphere rich in the cultural identity of the border region of Lang Son. This year saw the largest number of participating units and peach blossom trees ever, demonstrating the growing influence of the Lang Son peach blossom festival in creating unique tourism products and honoring the distinctive flower of Lang Son during the Lunar New Year and spring season.

The competition not only contributes to creating a unique cultural space to welcome the new spring but also serves as an opportunity to honor the peach blossom cultivation profession and promote the image of Lang Son's peach blossoms to the people and tourists from all over.

The peach blossom trees in the competition have beautiful shapes and a wide variety of species. Many trees have a natural, ancient appearance, meticulously cared for, clearly demonstrating the technique, experience, and dedication of the peach blossom growers.

The scoring was based on criteria such as shape, age, flowers, buds, aesthetic value, and the distinctive characteristics of Lang Son peach trees. In addition, the judging panel considered bonus points for older peach trees of rare species, those with exceptional beauty, skillfully pruned, and possessing high artistic value.

The peach blossoms of Lang Son are a distinctive symbol of spring in the Northeast region. Known as the "land of peach blossoms," Lang Son boasts over 600 hectares of peach orchards, concentrated in districts such as Huu Lung and Cao Loc. The vibrant colors of the peach blossoms, imbued with the cultural identity of the highlands, bloom brilliantly from the twelfth lunar month, attracting thousands of tourists every Tet (Lunar New Year) and Spring season.

"Lang Son peach blossoms have their own unique characteristics, most notably their vibrant and long-lasting blooms. Every Tet holiday, I send Lang Son peach blossoms to my friends in Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Bac Ninh to promote the image of peach blossoms from my hometown," shared Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuong, a resident of Dong Kinh ward.

The peach tree awarded first prize this year is a pink peach tree from Ky Lua commune. In addition to the "Peach Blossom Queen" award, the organizing committee also awarded 5 second prizes, 7 third prizes, and 25 consolation prizes.

As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, every peach tree in the growing regions of Lang Son is being cared for and preserved by the people with both experience and dedication, aiming to bring the most perfect products to the market to celebrate the Year of the Horse with the people.

Preserving the beauty of peach blossoms is not just an economic matter; it's also how the people of Lang Son cherish spring and prepare for the vibrant spring festival that's fast approaching.
