On the evening of May 5, the Met Gala 2025 fashion event officially took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The theme of this year's Met Gala is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. The event brought together many world-class stars with a series of sophisticated and outstanding outfits.

Lisa attracted attention when she wore a revealing lingerie look on the red carpet of this year's Met Gala. The singer appeared boldly in a Louis Vuitton outfit, with lace and elaborate sequins. The outfit included a tailored black blazer with see-through details, combined with a bodysuit and logo-printed tights.

However, Lisa's outfit is currently facing heated debate due to details that are considered offensive. Specifically, many people pointed out that the portrait of civil rights activist Rosa Parks was printed in a sensitive position on the BLACKPINK member's pants.

Rosa Parks was once honored by the US Congress as the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement” for her active participation in the movement for civil rights for black people. Therefore, wearing pants with her portrait in a sensitive position caused Lisa to receive a series of critical comments on social networks. Many opinions said that using Rosa Parks’ image like that was disrespectful and offensive.

Besides, there are also opinions defending Lisa, saying that this image is not necessarily a portrait of Rosa Parks.

According to Vogue , the portraits on Lisa’s outfits were created by artist Henry Taylor. Taylor was previously invited by Pharrell Williams – creative director of menswear for Louis Vuitton – to create this design for the brand’s Spring Summer 2024 show. In the first launch, these embroidered portraits were attached to the collection’s suits and accessories.

According to a statement from Louis Vuitton, the lace motif depicts “portraits of figures who were part of the artist’s life.” However, the fashion house did not confirm whether any famous faces were included. So, there is no solid basis to confirm that the portrait on Lisa’s pants is that of Rosa Parks.
