Rosa Parks was once honored by the US Congress as the “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement” for her active participation in the movement for civil rights for black people. Therefore, wearing pants with her portrait in a sensitive position caused Lisa to receive a series of critical comments on social networks. Many opinions said that using Rosa Parks’ image like that was disrespectful and offensive.

According to Vogue , the portraits on Lisa’s outfits were created by artist Henry Taylor. Taylor was previously invited by Pharrell Williams – creative director of menswear for Louis Vuitton – to create this design for the brand’s Spring Summer 2024 show. According to a statement from Louis Vuitton, the lace motif depicts “portraits of figures who were part of the artist’s life.” However, the fashion house did not confirm whether any famous faces were included. So, there is no solid basis to confirm that the portrait on Lisa’s pants is that of Rosa Parks.
