On the evening of May 5th, the 2025 Met Gala officially took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year's Met Gala theme was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." The event brought together many world-renowned stars showcasing elaborate and striking outfits.
Lisa drew attention with her revealing lingerie look on the Met Gala red carpet this year. The singer made a bold appearance in a Louis Vuitton outfit, featuring intricate sequined lace. The outfit included a tailored black blazer with sheer details, paired with a bodysuit and logo-printed tights.
However, Lisa's outfit is currently the subject of heated debate due to a detail deemed offensive. Specifically, many people have pointed out that a portrait of civil rights activist Rosa Parks was printed in a sensitive location on the BLACKPINK member's pants.

Rosa Parks was honored by the U.S. Congress as the "Mother of the Civil Rights Movement" for her active involvement in the civil rights movement for Black people. Therefore, Lisa's wearing pants with her portrait prominently displayed in a sensitive area drew a barrage of criticism on social media. Many opinions suggested that using Rosa Parks' image in this way was disrespectful and offensive.
On the other hand, there are also opinions defending Lisa, arguing that this image may not necessarily be a portrait of Rosa Parks.
According to Vogue magazine, the portraits on Lisa's outfits were created by artist Henry Taylor. Taylor had previously been commissioned by Pharrell Williams – Louis Vuitton's creative director for menswear – to create this design for the brand's Spring/Summer 2024 show. In its initial release, these embroidered portraits were featured on suits and accessories in the collection.
According to a statement from Louis Vuitton, the lace pattern depicts “portraits of figures who were once a part of the artist’s life.” However, the fashion house did not confirm whether any famous faces were included. Therefore, there is still no solid basis to assert that the portrait on Lisa’s pants is of Rosa Parks.
