According to former striker Ian Wright, Old Trafford is no longer a fortress and Manchester United will suffer a humiliating defeat against Liverpool in the 32nd round of the Premier League.
Last season, Man Utd beat Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League. However, they lost 0-7 when they traveled to Anfield, suffering their heaviest defeat against Liverpool in history, breaking the record of 1-7 in October 1895 - when Manchester United was still called Newton Heath.
Three weeks ago, also at Old Trafford, Man Utd and Liverpool produced a thrilling back-and-forth match. After a 2-2 draw in regular time, Harvey Elliott put Liverpool ahead in the first period of extra time before Marcus Rashford equalized. The drama intensified in the final minute of injury time when Alejandro Garnacho assisted Amad Diallo, who scored with a diagonal shot to seal a 4-3 victory.

However, Wright doesn't believe Manchester United can secure a third consecutive victory against Liverpool at Old Trafford. According to the former England striker, Jurgen Klopp's team will be more focused and clinical in their chances in the return match in the 32nd round of the Premier League.
"I'm worried for Man Utd," Wright told the Ringer FC podcast. "Man Utd can make a difference and Alejandro Garnacho will be a threat. But Liverpool will want to come to Old Trafford to assert themselves. The visitors will play more focused and ruthlessly, so I think Man Utd are in danger of a crushing defeat."
Man Utd also had a poor start to the season, dropping wins in injury time in their last two matches. On March 30th, away at Brentford, they opened the scoring through Mason Mount in the 7th minute of injury time, but conceded an equalizer just three minutes later. Then, against Chelsea midweek, the "Red Devils" even conceded goals to Cole Palmer in the 100th and 101st minutes, ultimately losing 3-4.
Commenting on Sportmail , Graeme Souness saw the defeat to Chelsea as a perfect example of Manchester United's situation and form since the start of the season. "Hopeless. Brilliant. Then painful," he wrote. "That kind of result happens to mediocre players. They sometimes create excitement and then disappoint the fans."
According to Souness, Man Utd were full of spirit, lucky to beat Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and showed resilience and fighting spirit against Chelsea. However, he believes that the Red Devils' collapse at the decisive moment against Chelsea wasn't due to outstanding performance, but rather poor, inconsistent play and incompetent players.
Therefore, Souness doesn't know what kind of performance Erik ten Hag's team will put on when they host Liverpool at Old Trafford on April 7th.
