Báo Quân đội Nhân dân•24/09/2023After the armed forces of Quang Ngai province, in coordination with units of Military Region 5, launched a concentrated attack in the delta area to gradually defeat the US-puppet regime's "rural pacification" plan, on the morning of June 17, 1970, the US-puppet regime deployed reconnaissance aircraft to pinpoint targets for fighter planes to bomb and armed helicopters to fire rockets, blocking our strategic inter-provincial corridor from the delta to our rear base. That same morning, groups of helicopters massively dropped a battalion of puppet troops into the base area of Son Trung commune, Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province, to attack and block the strategic inter-provincial corridor.
