This event celebrates the successful conclusion of the 17th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City and commemorates the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2025).
Attending the program were Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; and Colonel Tran Huu Dung, Deputy Head of the Youth Department of the Ministry of National Defense.
Representing Hanoi City were Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Luu; along with representatives from the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Hanoi City Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Hanoi Youth Union.
Notably, the event was attended by representatives from nearly 300 families of fallen soldiers, along with more than 1,500 young people, youth union members, and children from Hanoi.
The program is an opportunity for the youth of Hanoi to pay tribute to the older generation – those who dedicated and sacrificed themselves to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Although they have fallen, their names, ideals, and achievements live on in the hearts of the nation, becoming immortal symbols alongside the country.

The program opened with a stirring dance performance, "Echoes of the Homeland ," recreating the arduous yet glorious and proud journey of struggle. This also served as an opening for the profound gratitude of the youth of Hanoi to the heroic martyrs and heroic Vietnamese mothers.
At the program, Hanoi's Youth Union members and young people also had the opportunity to listen to historical witnesses such as musician Truong Quy Hai and journalist Phung Huy Thinh - those who directly experienced the flames of war - with authentic stories about the ideals and noble sacrifices of previous generations.

Notably, at the event, nearly 300 restored photographs were presented to the families of fallen soldiers. From time-worn black-and-white photos, many with only a few details remaining, advanced techniques have recreated the images of the fallen soldiers with remarkable clarity.
In addition, the organizers also presented meaningful gifts as a token of deep gratitude to the fallen heroes and their families.

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, Nguyen Tien Hung, affirmed that the project to restore the portraits of martyrs is a journey of gratitude, responsibility, and love for the Fatherland.
With their youthful energy, creativity, and passionate hearts, the youth of Hanoi are embarking on a journey to connect the past with the present, so that the flame of a glorious past will forever be a guiding light for the future.
The "Journey to Immortality - From Memory to Aspiration" program is not only a tribute from the younger generation to their elders, but also a political activity that contributes to educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and a cultured lifestyle for the youth of Hanoi.
This is also a practical action to concretize the Resolution of the 17th City Youth Union Congress right from the beginning of the term, affirming the aspirations of young people in preserving and promoting the fine traditional values of the nation, as well as pioneering in applying digital transformation and science and technology in the activities of the Youth Union organization.
