Many people probably know that kite flying used to be mostly in rural areas with vast fields. You could learn how to make them yourself or ask your siblings or parents to help. Simply cut and glue a piece of paper onto a small bamboo frame, add a few charming tails, and tie a spool of thread, fishing line, or string to the kite body, and you have a kite to fly in the wind.

However, the most profound impression of the kite is in the hearts of each person's childhood; after afternoons of flying kites, at night, lying in bed, the kite still soars high in the sky in their dreams...

In the countryside, paper kites are still common, but buying cloth kites to play with has become much more popular. There are many places selling cloth kites, along with numerous street vendors with carts laden with colorful kites fluttering in the wind. And the ultimate destination for kites remains the vast, boundless sky, their graceful tails curving proudly in the air as if reaching for the stars...

In some places now, people have invested in kite production facilities, employing dozens to hundreds of workers, producing thousands of fabric kites every day. The variety of colors and designs of fabric kites far surpasses that of paper kites, because the printing and design of kites has become a sophisticated technology! From simple designs like ordinary paper kites to shapes of fish, peacocks, dragons, phoenixes, and even airplanes, superheroes, or the latest characters from foreign comics. Fabric kites now range in price from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dong, depending on size and the complexity of the design. Many parents and older siblings are willing to spend money on the biggest and most beautiful kites to fly them soaring in the wind from early morning until late at night.

Don't think that kite flying is only for our age group. Many adults now fly kites with their children in the afternoons, or sometimes just for themselves, as a way to relax after a hard day's work, to let go of the stresses of city life. Adults or children, children or adults, paper kites or cloth kites, a kite is still a kite, soaring freely in the clear sky, under the watchful eyes of countless people.

From kites contributing to the poetic charm of the countryside, they have now become an integral part of the city's soul. Wherever there is vast land and boundless sky, and people full of warmth and affection, kites easily soar, gracefully gliding and swirling before the eyes of many, carrying with them the dreams and aspirations of people, both past and yet to come.
