Floodwaters in the Dinh River, Ninh Hoa, are receding slowly.

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, the floodwaters on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River are slowly receding. At 9 PM on November 21st, the water levels at the stations were as follows: Duc My station: 15.22m, 0.28m below alarm level 1; Ninh Hoa hydrological station: 6.07m, 0.37m above alarm level 3. At 8 PM on November 21st, Da Ban reservoir was releasing 163.4 m³/s, Suoi Trau reservoir 22.71 m³/s, and Ea Krong Rou reservoir 40 m³/s. With this level of regulation and the predicted rainfall, over the next 24 hours, the floodwaters on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River at the Ninh Hoa station will continue to recede and fluctuate around alarm level 2.

Flood warnings remain in effect for the following wards and communes: Ninh Hoa, Nam Ninh Hoa, Bac Ninh Hoa, Dong Ninh Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Tri, Hoa Thang, etc. The maximum flood level is between 0.2m and 1.2m, with low-lying areas potentially experiencing flooding exceeding 2m.

According to the 9:30 PM bulletin on November 21st from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, the following communes and wards in the province continue to experience flooding: Dien Dien, Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, and Nam Nha Trang. The maximum flood level ranges from 0.2 to 1 meter, with low-lying areas potentially experiencing flooding deeper than 1.5 meters. The communes and wards of My Son, Phuoc Hau, Ninh Phuoc, Do Vinh, Bao An, Phan Rang, Phuoc Dinh, Dong Hai, etc., experience maximum flood levels from 0.2 to 0.6 meters. The flooding is expected to last from the night of November 21st to November 22nd. Furthermore, given the prolonged rainfall over the past few days, soil moisture models indicate that some areas in Khanh Hoa province are nearing saturation (over 80%). In the next 6 hours, total rainfall is expected to be between 20-50mm, with some areas exceeding 60mm. There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on slopes, and land subsidence in communes of Khanh Hoa province (see photo).
