Today, February 14th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly, with limited market supply and relatively stable rice prices, although some rice varieties reversed direction and decreased.


Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, February 14, 2025, remained relatively stable. Prices for all types of rice were fairly consistent, although some fresh paddy prices decreased compared to the middle of the week.

Specifically, regarding fresh rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 50404 rice decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuates between 5,800 - 6,100 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice fluctuates between 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a fairly large volume of rice being sold, with buying and selling transactions showing positive activity. In An Giang , farmers are offering a considerable amount of rice for sale, with prices fluctuating slightly, and some varieties seeing a slight increase of 50 VND/kg. In Ca Mau, farmers are offering rice at high prices, but there are few buyers.

In Kien Giang, traders are showing considerable interest in purchasing rice in some areas, with prices remaining relatively stable. In Can Tho, the rice harvest yielded high productivity, prices remained stable, and demand was stronger than at the beginning and middle of the week. In Long An , traders are showing considerable interest in purchasing IR50404 and Dai Thom 8 rice, with transactions occurring sporadically.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: raw 5451 rice ranges from 8,800 to 9,000 VND/kg; raw OM 380 rice ranges from 7,400 to 7,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice ranges from 8,800 to 9,000 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice ranges from 7,700 to 7,800 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice ranges from 9,500 to 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,350 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (grades 3-4) increased by 100 VND to 5,900-6,100 VND/kg; and dry rice bran increased by 50 VND to 5,350 - 5,550 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Observations in various localities today indicate low supply and slow trading activity. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply mainly consists of fragrant rice and OM5451, with IR50404 rice remaining in low quantities, and prices for high-quality rice slightly increasing. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, with a relatively good supply of Cambodian OM5451 rice, but fragrant rice purchases are slow, and prices remain relatively stable.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the supply is better than in previous days, transactions are sporadic, warehouses are selecting rice, and prices are stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), the supply is sporadic, warehouses are selecting good quality rice, and bulk rice with good quality grains is fetching slightly higher prices.

At retail markets, the prices of various types of rice remained relatively stable compared to yesterday, except for regular rice which decreased by 1000 VND, fluctuating between 15,000 and 16,000 VND/kg. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates around 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is priced at 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is priced at 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $397/ton; 25% broken rice is $372/ton; and 100% broken rice is $310/ton.
