Fresh rice prices continue to rise.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, March 12th, showed slight fluctuations. The market was relatively strong, with stable rice prices and some fresh paddy prices continuing to rise.


Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, March 12, 2025, remained relatively stable. Prices for all types of rice were stable, with some fresh paddy prices continuing their slight upward trend compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 18 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,500 and 6,700 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,500 and 6,700 VND/kg; OM 380 rice (fresh) increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,200 and 5,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,700 and 5,900 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,500 and 5,600 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is at 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show a good supply and steady buying and selling activity. In Hau Giang, rice is being harvested in large quantities, farmers are offering slightly higher prices, and demand is strong due to the uniform ripening of the rice. In Dong Thap, farmers are maintaining their asking prices, and demand for rice remains steady. In Soc Trang , rice prices are stable, but buying and selling activity is slow.

In An Giang, farmers are offering high prices for rice, and demand for rice in Thoai Son is sporadic, with some rice fields showing green patches. In Can Tho, there is little rice left, most of it has already been planted, and the harvest will be completed in a few days. In Kien Giang , rice transactions are steady, demand is quite good, and rice prices are not fluctuating much.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 380 raw rice ranges from 7,900 to 8,000 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice ranges from 8,150 to 8,200 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice ranges from 9,300 to 9,500 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice ranges from 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice ranges from 8,800 to 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice ranges from 9,500 to 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,550 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant broken rice is around 7,100-7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (3-4 grades) is around 6,600-6,700 VND/kg; and the price of dry rice bran is around 5,550-5,700 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.

Reports from various localities today indicate a better supply of rice, with relatively stable prices for all types. In An Giang, rice is arriving steadily, but warehouse purchases have slowed down, and prices vary depending on quality. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), supplies are good, mainly fragrant and sticky rice, with steady trading and stable prices. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), rice supplies are abundant, but warehouse purchases are moderate, and prices have decreased for all types.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the amount of rice arriving at the docks is better, warehouses are sorting rice, prices are less volatile, and by-product prices remain stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province), the supply is sporadic, rice prices have dropped slightly, and warehouses are buying slowly.

At retail markets, rice prices remained stable compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates between 15,000 and 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates around 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $390/ton; 25% broken rice is $364/ton; and 100% broken rice is $307/ton.
