Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice has increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 7,900 and 8,000 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice has increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 7,550 and 7,700 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates between 8,500 and 8,600 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 and 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg.
Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,550 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; broken rice (grades 3-4) at 6,100 - 6,200 VND/kg; and dry rice bran at 5,550 - 5,700 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.
Observations in various localities today show that rice supplies are sporadic, and buying and selling transactions remain slow. In Lap Vo ( Dong Thap ), supplies are scarce, some traders have not yet milled and sold their rice, and warehouses are buying at slightly higher prices compared to yesterday. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), prices of all types of raw rice have also increased slightly.
At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), rice supply is low, transactions are sporadic, and buyers are selecting rice, with prices slightly increasing. In An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), rice is available sporadically, prices are stable, and there are few buyers.
At retail markets, the prices of various types of rice remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, regarding fresh rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: OM 5451 rice decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 5,800 and 6,000 VND/kg; OM 18 rice decreased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 6,400 and 6,500 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates between 6,400 and 6,600 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice fluctuates between 5,400 and 5,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,600-6,700 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800-8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 9,200 VND/kg.
Observations in many localities today indicate that supply is low and buying and selling transactions remain slow. In Soc Trang, farmers are reporting a good yield of winter-spring rice, but traders are buying little at low prices, resulting in slow transactions. In Ca Mau, farmers are offering slightly lower prices for their rice, and demand is slow.
In Kien Giang, trading has stalled, with little buying and selling activity, and prices are trending downwards. In Can Tho, bad weather has slowed rice trading, with few buyers and little price fluctuation. In Dong Thap, farmers are offering rice to sell in the next 1-2 weeks, while the price of fragrant winter-spring rice is trending downwards, and trading is slow.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $394/ton; 25% broken rice is $369/ton; and 100% broken rice is $310/ton.
