Overcoming the sun, conquering the rain.
At the training ground of the 692nd Regiment (301st Infantry Division) during a live-fire test, each soldier took their position with the highest determination to conquer the target. After the first volley of shots, the intensity of the training ground reached its peak. Regardless of their shooting position, the young soldiers' skill was clearly evident in every aiming shot. The bullets hitting the target were the result of days of "braving the sun and rain, and diligently practicing."
A new feature in this live-fire test was the introduction of a high-altitude surveillance camera system. All events were broadcast live, ensuring transparency and accurately reflecting the skills and training results of the soldiers. Through these tests, many new recruits earned the "excellent shooter" and "outstanding shooter" awards.
Private Nguyen Van Manh, a soldier from Company 2, Battalion 4 (692nd Regiment), shared: "The results of this inspection affirm the efforts of each individual after days of high-intensity training in hot weather conditions. Overcoming initial awkwardness, thanks to the dedicated guidance and 'hands-on' instruction from the officers and new soldiers, we have mastered each movement."
Alongside the main force, the training grounds for local militia units of the local armed forces also blazed with determination. On the training ground, despite their shirts being soaked with sweat, the "square star soldiers" of Hong Son commune still seriously performed each instruction and shooting technique.
Major Pham Van Hai, Deputy Commander of the Hong Son Commune Military Command, assessed: "The self-discipline of the militia members is very high. Many comrades had to arrange their family affairs to participate in the training, but once they stepped onto the training ground, they all maintained a serious and disciplined demeanor, adhering closely to the motto 'basic, practical, and high-quality'."
In Co Do commune, during the 2026 regional defense exercise, officers and staff of the Military Command and the commune's militia forces practiced diligently, ensuring proficiency and accuracy in every movement and plan. Therefore, when practicing handling a situation involving an enemy airborne landing, the militia forces deployed their formations according to the plan. The coordination was smooth, and the handling of emerging situations met the set requirements.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dao Hien, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Co Do commune, said: "The success of the exercise not only reflects the quality of training but also clearly demonstrates the sense of responsibility and determination of the officers and soldiers of the commune's armed forces."
Supplementing training programs to enhance the capacity of teaching staff.
The results on the training grounds at the units are clear evidence of the close guidance of the Party Committee and the Hanoi Capital Command. Major General Dao Van Nhan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command, affirmed: Cadres are always the key factor determining the training results.
Therefore, the entire force focused on training and improving the capacity of the teaching staff, emphasizing practical training and systematic instruction from basic to advanced levels, without skipping stages.
In particular, given the complex developments in the world , the Hanoi Capital Command has proactively researched and added many modern contents to the training program; at the same time, for the first time, it has introduced some new types of weapons manufactured in Vietnam into training to familiarize the troops with and improve their situational handling skills.
In addition, in accordance with the policy of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff on reorganizing the commune-level Military Command, from December 2025, the Hanoi Capital Command has appointed 126 permanent officers to assume the position of Commander of the newly established commune and ward Military Commands.
According to Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Co Do commune, since regular officers were assigned to the commune by the Hanoi Capital Command, the mindset and working style at the commune's Military Command have changed significantly. The command duty and combat readiness duty have become well-established, enabling the Party Committee and local government to be completely proactive in all situations.
Through practical exercises and training under the new model, the leadership, guidance, and management capabilities of local Party committees and authorities have been significantly enhanced; the ability to advise and coordinate between military forces, police, and civil defense has become increasingly seamless.
The armed forces of the capital city are gradually improving their overall quality and combat readiness. The sweat shed on the training ground today is solid preparation for the entire force to successfully complete all assigned tasks, proving themselves a reliable pillar of support for the Party committee, government, and people of the capital city.
