In this competition, Pham Van Mach overcame many strong opponents, especially two candidates from India, Muru Ramamurthy and Shiv Choram Sundi, to win the gold medal.
This is a very special world championship title in the career of the athlete from An Giang as this year he turns 49 years old.

A mirror of passion and determination
This is also the 7th time Pham Van Mach has won the world bodybuilding championship in the 55kg category, in 2001, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2017, 2023 and 2025.
At the age of 49, Pham Van Mach still shows careful preparation, professionalism and readiness to perform difficult movements with high demands.
The athlete born in 1976 shared that to maintain good health and form, he still maintains the habit of practicing 2 hours a day, increasing it to 3-5 hours during the competition preparation period, and at the same time builds a suitable nutritional regimen for each time.

Sharing after winning the gold medal, Pham Van Mach said: “The opponents in the 55kg category were very even and strong, so winning the title was the result of more than 5 months of intense preparation. At this age, I have to be more strict with myself so as not to be inferior to the young athletes.”
Pham Van Mach's achievements not only bring glory to him personally, but also make an important contribution to raising the status of Vietnamese bodybuilding.
The 16th World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship - 2025 takes place from November 14 to 17, gathering hundreds of athletes from many countries and territories around the world.
The Vietnamese team with a strong force of 23 athletes is determined to win the highest rankings.
