Thanh Hien - Nhu Khanh - Nam Cuong Secondary School
As usual, every year the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training organize the athletics competition for junior and senior high school students, which is also the time when the traditional cross-country race is held. Participating in both competitions, the Nam Cuong Junior High School team, with 27 athletes, performed excellently and achieved high rankings. Truly admirable and something to be proud of!
Participating in the 2024 Provincial High School and Junior High School Athletics Championships and the 2024 Traditional Cross-Country Race on the occasion of the Olympic Run for Public Health and in response to International Happiness Day on March 20th, Nam Cuong Junior High School selected and formed a team of 17 athletes competing in athletics and 11 athletes in the cross-country race. Some students participated in both events. Although training time was limited, with the support and encouragement of the school leadership and the enthusiastic guidance of Coach Bui Thi Binh, the team actively trained and prepared for the competition with the best possible spirit. This is also a result of the school's investment in physical education and comprehensive education.
From the very first day of competition, with the encouragement of teachers and fellow students, the athletes from Nam Cuong Secondary School participating in the 2024 Lao Cai Provincial High School and Secondary School Athletics Tournament have strived their best, clearly demonstrating their strength and determination to conquer the challenges awaiting them on the race tracks. After two days of competition, the athletes have excellently won 5 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 4 third prizes, and 2 consolation prizes.
At the 2024 Traditional Cross-Country Race, despite unfavorable weather conditions and heavy rain, the athletes, with their utmost determination and the support of school leaders, teachers, and students, completed the competition with outstanding results beyond expectations. At the end of the race, Nam Cuong Secondary School athletes received 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Well deserved! The excellent performance of the Nam Cuong Secondary School athletes contributed to the overall achievement of the Lao Cai City Department of Education and Training – winning first place overall at the 2024 Traditional Cross-Country Race.
In the two competitions, outstanding achievements include Co Thi Huyen Trang from class 7A2 with one first place in the girls' youth cross-country and two second places in athletics; Phu Ga So from class 9A2 with three awards, including one first place and two third places ; Phan Thi Hoa from class 8A1 with two first places; and Luong Ngoc Ha Minh Chi from class 9A3 with two first places, one first place and one second place in the boys' 800m and 400m events. The first place awards in the girls' athletics events from 100m to 800m all went to athletes from Nam Cuong. Nothing could be more joyful, happy, and proud than the three first place awards in the girls' youth, girls' senior, and boys' youth categories. Alongside Co Thi Huyen Trang are Phan Thi Nguyet from class 9A3 and Vang Lao San from class 8A2. And we cannot forget teacher Bui Thi Binh, who served as both coach and athlete, also won a second place in the girls' senior category.
The achievements of the athletes from Nam Cuong Secondary School in these competitions not only promote the general movement of physical education and sports, and track and field in particular, creating opportunities for students to compete, learn, and interact, but also contribute to motivating staff, teachers, and students to participate in physical training for better health, work, and quality of life. At the same time, it shows that success doesn't come automatically but is achieved gradually through ambition, dreams, aspirations, willpower, and comprehensive care and education. Today's achievements are the beginning of a journey towards greater excellence, not only in sports but also in each person's life.
