At the foot of Con Voi Mountain, there are many favorable conditions for households to successfully raise cold-water fish.

During the upcoming holiday, Ms. Dang Thi Yeu's family will sell about 1 ton of sturgeon, at a time when fish prices are relatively high. In the fourth year of raising fish, the 5 ponds have stabilized. This pond area is near the source, the water is clear and cool, so the fish grow quickly, and taking care of the fish is also easier. Ms. Dang Thi Yeu, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district shared: "The water source here is quite suitable, the pond is designed reasonably to take advantage of the water from the upper pond to the lower pond. The farmers here also share the water source, then return it to the fields for irrigation."

People know how to share water resources, so households living far away like Hoang Van Hieu's family can still maintain a relatively favorable sturgeon farming model for nearly ten years. To save on investment costs, in addition to built tanks, Hieu took advantage of making tarpaulin-lined tanks, investing in a water pipe system from afar for nearly 200 square meters of water surface. "I saw people raising sturgeon and tried to raise them by a few hundred, and after much experimentation, I finally succeeded like today. In general, I also visited many places, just temporarily built tanks and gradually built breeding tanks," said Hoang Van Hieu, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district.

Cold water fish farming is a significant source of income for local people here.

Raising sturgeon requires high technology and large investment, but in return, the value is many times higher than traditional models in the locality. More than 30 households have exploited the advantages of water resources on the Con Voi mountain range, learning from experience to implement cold-water fish farming models. This is a significant source of income for the people. Mr. Dang Thanh Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, said: "Currently, there are 31 households raising sturgeon with 89 tanks, more than 6,200 m3, selling price 180,000 - 200,000/kg. The tanks must be guaranteed, we recommend that people do not develop massively to be able to develop sustainably".

The cool spring from Con Voi Mountain is bringing a prosperous life to the Dao and Tay people here. In addition to raising cold-water fish, the water is also brought back to irrigate the lush fields, promising a bumper crop. Life has gradually improved, and the locality is more confident in its journey to reach the new rural finish line by the end of this year.
