With the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake approaching, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province is actively coordinating with political and social organizations to mobilize organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to organize activities to care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances during Tet, ensuring that everyone and every family can celebrate Tet fully and joyfully.

In recent days, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province has delivered many meaningful Tet gifts to the poor. With the support of the Southern Power Corporation, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Fatherland Front Committee recently donated 20 bicycles to poor but studious students, each worth 1.8 million VND, and 100 gift packages including rice, some essential goods, and confectionery worth 1 million VND and 200,000 VND in cash to the Raglay ethnic minority people in Phuoc Khang commune (Thuan Bac district) to help them have better conditions to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday.

Besides prioritizing resources from the "For the Poor" Fund to provide Tet gifts to those in difficult circumstances, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Ninh Thuan province also coordinated with the Red Cross and other organizations to mobilize financial and in-kind resources to organize the "Compassionate Tet" movement, giving gifts to the poor and vulnerable in society. During the Tet holiday of the Year of the Snake (2015), the Red Cross branches at all levels in Ninh Thuan province strived to give approximately 14,500 gifts to the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people, with a total value of over 5 billion VND.

Mr. Le Van Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province, said that in recent times, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and its member organizations have implemented activities to care for the poor through meaningful activities such as giving gifts, building solidarity houses, and supporting livelihoods for the poor. In 2024, the "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee at all levels received over 23.5 billion VND in donations from agencies, units, businesses, individuals, and philanthropists. From these resources, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels allocated a total of over 31 billion VND, including supporting the construction of 458 solidarity houses with a total of 26.8 billion VND; repairing 10 houses with a budget of 210 million VND; giving Tet gifts, providing livelihoods, and supporting disadvantaged families... with an amount exceeding 3 billion VND.

To effectively care for the poor during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake (2015), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province instructed districts and cities to review and select eligible recipients according to regulations, and allocate funds to localities to organize the distribution of gifts, ensuring they reach the intended recipients. With the goal of handing over approximately 160 solidarity houses before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Thuan province has directed the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees in Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Son, Ninh Hai, Thuan Bac, and Thuan Nam districts to urgently coordinate with relevant departments and units to review and expedite construction, helping people celebrate a more meaningful and warm Tet holiday in their new, spacious homes.
