Mbappe wins the European Golden Shoe for the 2024/25 season. |
Despite Real Madrid's decline in the final stages of Carlo Ancelotti's reign, Mbappe still shone brightly with 43 goals in all competitions, including 31 in La Liga. With this achievement, he won two prestigious individual awards: the European Golden Shoe and the Pichichi Trophy for La Liga's top scorer.
In La Liga, the French striker surpassed Robert Lewandowski (Barca) in the race for the Pichichi. Before the El Clasico match at the end of the season, Lewandowski (27 goals) was leading. Mbappé is also the first Real Madrid player in a decade to win the European Golden Shoe, after Cristiano Ronaldo in 2015.
This double of goalscoring titles is the most convincing proof of Mbappe's perfect debut season at the Bernabeu. He continuously broke records, standing shoulder to shoulder and even surpassing legendary names such as Ivan Zamorano, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alfredo Di Stefano to write his name in the history of the royal team.
Mbappe will be looking to maintain this devastating scoring form when he joins Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup next summer.
