Inter want to sign McTominay. |
The Scottish midfielder joined Napoli from Manchester United for a fee of around £27.5 million, at the invitation of manager Antonio Conte. Since then, he has quickly settled in and shown impressive form with 7 goals and 4 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Coach Conte heaped praise on McTominay, stating that he makes a significant difference in Napoli's playing style, especially when paired with his former teammate Romelu Lukaku.
However, keeping McTominay could be under threat. According to Fichajes , Inter Milan are determined to sign the 28-year-old midfielder. Coach Simone Inzaghi is reportedly a big fan of his playing style. The source indicates that Inter will "make every effort to push the deal through" in the near future.
However, Inter's chances of success remain open. McTominay currently has a contract with Napoli until summer 2028 and is valued at around 40 million euros by Transfermarkt .
Speaking to BBC Sport in December, McTominay stated: "Coming to Napoli was a pretty easy decision. I saw the passion from the fans, from the coach and my teammates. I've never regretted it, I won't look back. I love this place. Everything is fantastic."
Currently, McTominay and Napoli are locked in a fierce battle for the Serie A title. Antonio Conte's team is 3 points behind Inter Milan.
