In an exclusive interview with Diario Sport, the Argentinian player shared many memories from his time at Barca. At the same time, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner also left open the possibility of participating in the 2026 World Cup.

Messi says that whenever he hears about Barcelona and everything related to it, it evokes a sense of nostalgia. The 38-year-old superstar admits that memories from his time at Barca bring him many emotions.

The Miami forward shared: “I really miss all the moments from my time at Barca. After a few years have passed, looking back on everything from afar today in a more relaxed way, I feel great.”

On the other hand, Messi stated that he would not participate in the 2026 World Cup if he was not in his best form. Messi does not want to be a burden to his teammates in the Argentine national team.

Inter Miami will take a three-month break at the beginning of 2026 before the start of the new season, while the 2026 World Cup will begin in June of the same year. Therefore, Messi will only have a short period of time to prepare for the World Cup in the United States.
