AI model maps Earth “anywhere, anytime”

Google has just announced a large-scale AI model called AlphaEarth Foundations that allows mapping the world at any location and time by aggregating trillions of observational data points.

In early August 2025, Google announced a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) model called AlphaEarth Foundations, which will enable the mapping of the world at any location and time by aggregating trillions of observational data points – including satellite imagery, radar, and maps – to track changes in land and shallow waters globally.
