Lam Son High School for the Gifted Teachers: Hope there is a mechanism to attract excellent students to return home
Mr. Nguyen Ba Tu, teacher at Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa, has trained many students to win awards and medals at the Asian and international Olympics.
Teacher Tu shared that in his career, he has taught many generations of students. Witnessing their growth and achievements always makes him emotional and proud.
The teacher remembers most in 2024, there were 3 students competing in the Asia- Pacific Physics Olympiad and all 3 won medals, including 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze Medals. Also in that year, Ha Duyen Phuc, a student at Lam Son High School, won the Silver Medal at the International Olympiad.

Recalling the days of exam preparation, Mr. Tu said that both he and his students encountered many difficulties and pressures. For him, that pressure was the “vast sea of knowledge.” How could he equip his students with enough knowledge? How could he make each difficult problem simpler and easier for them?
On the other hand, Physics is an experimental subject, but the school currently does not have enough conditions and equipment for students to practice. Mr. Tu suggested that the school contact universities to bring students to study in a practical environment, helping them get acquainted and not be at a disadvantage compared to international students.
“With Olympic exams, students are under great pressure from the expectations of their families, schools, and society. As a teacher, I closely monitor and share with them so that they can reduce the pressure and confidently express themselves,” said Mr. Tu.
Ha Duyen Phuc, currently studying abroad in Singapore, told the story of how, before the day of selection for the national team to compete in the International Olympics, she was very stressed and pressured. She was afraid that she might forget some important knowledge, so she could not sleep. Late at night, she still stayed up reading.
"Mr. Tu came in, invited me to "eat snails" and encouraged me to "be confident and be yourself". His short words helped me release the burden and relieve the pressure", Duyen Phuc shared.
Mr. Tu believes that talented students are good seeds for the future. Therefore, he hopes that the Party and the State will have policies to attract good students studying abroad to return to work in the country, and at the same time, teachers will continue to receive more attention.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Son, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, hopes that teachers will love their profession. Over the years, in addition to cultivating ethics and improving professional qualifications to do better work every day, the school's teaching staff has also carried out the task of supporting colleagues and teachers in many other places to innovate together.

In particular, when implementing the 2018 General Education Program, schools must update knowledge, review the training goals of future teacher candidates with what qualities and capacities to innovate; and train core and general teachers to implement the new program.
According to Mr. Son, in the coming time, Hanoi National University of Education will work with pedagogical colleges to strengthen training for teachers to teach subjects in English, in order to promote English as the second language in schools.
"Currently, the school has 7 majors for teacher training in English. In the near future, we will expand to increase the number of students studying this program," said Mr. Son.
On the other hand, the school has also built training courses for teachers of general schools.
"First, we will train preschool teachers to be able to use English in educational activities; and train primary school teachers to teach subjects in English, first of all science subjects," said Mr. Son.
