To achieve the goal of building and developing an advanced culture rich in national identity, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has strengthened state management in the field of culture and cultural heritage. Many historical sites have received attention for restoration and preservation. Many unique traditional festivals, preserving the beauty of the nation's ancient culture, have been organized, attracting a large number of people and tourists. Notably, in 2024, Thanh Hoa had 6 more intangible cultural heritage sites recognized as national intangible cultural heritage. The ranking of heritage sites, especially national intangible cultural heritage, has consolidated and enriched the treasure trove of Thanh Hoa's cultural heritage, affirming the historical and cultural traditions of this land of outstanding people and rich history.

Recognizing that culture is both a goal and a driving force of development, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector always focuses on improving the quality of grassroots culture. Mass cultural activities, cultural festivals, performances, and competitions throughout the province are implemented enthusiastically. The "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement has developed deeply, broadly, and effectively. In 2024, the percentage of culturally exemplary families reached 83%; the percentage of villages, hamlets, and residential areas recognized as culturally exemplary residential areas reached 82.3%. Alongside this, activities such as propaganda, performances, film screenings, exhibitions, libraries, museums, historical research and compilation, and family affairs are maintained and implemented effectively.

In 2024, Thanh Hoa province's sports sector also achieved many outstanding results. Sports for all developed vigorously, attracting approximately 44.6% of the population to participate in regular physical exercise and sports. High-performance sports achieved many remarkable results. Athletes from various high-performance sports teams competed in 149 competitions (121 national and 28 international), winning 1,010 medals of all kinds. Athlete Pham Thi Van, from the swimming team, participated in the 11th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in the Philippines, achieving an outstanding performance with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal, while also breaking the record for the 18+ age group. Athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, from the Thanh Hoa Jujitsu team, participated in the Asian Jujitsu Championships and Junior Championships in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and excellently won 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals, creating a historic feat for the Thanh Hoa Jujitsu team... Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Club successfully defended its National Cup title in 2024, becoming one of only three clubs to win the National Cup twice in a row.

With the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has always been proactive, creative, flexible, and highly determined in carrying out its tasks. At the beginning of the year, a list of cultural, sports, and tourism events for 2024 in the province was issued. Tourism promotion, marketing, and information activities have been implemented effectively. Many tourism products have established strong brands. The total number of visitors for the year is estimated at 15,300,000, an increase of 22.5% compared to 2023, reaching 110.9% of the 2024 plan (including an estimated 719,000 international visitors). Total tourism revenue is estimated at 33,815 billion VND, an increase of 38% compared to 2023, reaching 104.4% of the 2024 plan.

The year 2024 has come to an end, marking both the efforts to overcome challenges and the outstanding achievements of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector. These achievements serve as a foundation for the sector to continue innovating and affirming the important role of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the sustainable socio-economic development of the province.
