According to the Daily Mail , Premier League teams only have to release players on December 15, 7 days later than the original deadline. This is considered a big boost for many clubs facing the risk of losing a series of pillars at the stressful stage of the season.
MU is one of the teams that will benefit from this change. Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui are likely to still be able to play when the "Red Devils" take on Bournemouth on December 15th following FIFA's decision.
Notably, Mbeumo is MU's main striker this season with 6 goals in 14 matches in all competitions. The absence of this striker, along with the injury of Benjamin Sesko, has caused coach Ruben Amorim a headache in finding an alternative attacking option.
In addition to MU, Liverpool will also be able to keep Mohamed Salah for one more match, when Arne Slot's team faces Brighton on December 13. Similarly, Man City can still use Omar Marmoush, Salah's teammate in the Egyptian national team, when facing Crystal Palace on December 14.
CAN 2025 is scheduled to start on December 21, with around 45 Premier League players leaving their clubs to join the national team. Four clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds and Newcastle, are without players.
Sunderland are the biggest losers with a long list of absentees including Chemesdine Talbi, Simon Adingra, Bertrand Traoré, Arthur Masuaku, Reinildo, Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra having to return to CAN 2025.
