Many differences

Unlike other DIFF seasons, DIFF 2025 is the longest and largest fireworks display in the history of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, with 6 nights of fireworks and the participation of 10 competing teams from Vietnam, Finland, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Canada, and China.

DIFF 2025 features 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries, with teams from three different continents. Notably, this is the first time the festival has included two Vietnamese teams, namely Da Nang and Chemical Company 21. The remaining 8 teams, in addition to familiar names like Finland, Poland, China, Canada, Italy, and the UK, include two new teams from South Korea and Portugal participating in DIFF this year.

DIFF 2025 will be held with 6 official competition nights, each with a different and unique theme:

- Night 1 (May 31): “Cultural Quintessence” - Vietnam 1 (Da Nang) and Finland.

- Night 2 (7-6): “Creative Art” - Vietnam 2 (Z121) and Poland.

- Night 3 (June 14): “A Journey of Connection” - Canada and China.

- Night 4 (June 21): “Sustainable Development” - Portugal and the UK. Night 5 (June 28): “Technology Leads the Way” - South Korea and Italy.

The final night (July 12): “Welcoming a new era” – Vietnam – China).

“No other country has as many as 10 fireworks teams competing at the same time. I believe it is entirely possible to propose that DIFF 2025 be included in the Guinness Book of Records,” affirmed Nadia Shakira Wong, CEO of Global 2000, a leading global fireworks consulting company.

High prize values, a prestigious brand, and ever-improving quality have transformed DIFF into a "world-class playground" for international fireworks artists. At the same time, the event has also contributed to attracting attention from global media, making Da Nang a bright spot on the world event map.

The stage for the show is designed to be open, twice as wide as in 2024, making it one of the most spectacular stages in the 17-year history of the Da Nang Fireworks Festival.

Mr. Huynh Nam Thang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Sun Group Central Region, stated that the main stage of DIFF 2025, themed "Da Nang - A New Era," is designed as a symbol affirming that spirit. Inspired by Da Nang's distinctive natural beauty, the stage recreates the majestic image of the Marble Mountains alongside the ocean, with a shining gem at the center as a focal point, symbolizing the strong aspiration for progress and continuous innovation of the city on the Han River. The image of mountains and rivers also represents harmony and unity, aligning with the message of a "new era" that DIFF 2025 aims to convey to residents and tourists.

The "boost" that propelled Da Nang tourism to spectacular breakthroughs.

According to statistics, in just under a month during the DIFF 2025 qualifying rounds (from May 31st to June 30th), accommodation establishments in Da Nang served approximately 1.17 million visitors, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period last year. This is a significant figure, clearly reflecting the attractiveness of this festival to both domestic and international tourists.

The DIFF 2025 final night served as a catalyst for Da Nang's tourism in the summer of 2025. The number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in Da Nang reached approximately 98,000, a 6.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This included a spectacular growth in international visitors (up 81%) and domestic visitors (up 18% year-on-year). Hotels in coastal areas and the city center were almost fully booked, operating at nearly 100% capacity.

Da Nang International Airport witnessed a surge in passengers, with the total number of domestic and international flights exceeding the record for 2024.

On the eve of the DIFF 2025 final, the city on the Han River welcomed 171 flights on July 11th, a 14% increase compared to the estimated average frequency for July 2025 and a 40% increase compared to the first six months of 2025.

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the support of the DIFF organizing unit, the city has a unique tourism product like DIFF, which plays an important role in increasing the number of tourists and spreading the Da Nang brand both domestically and internationally.

Ambassador Marcos A. Bednarski of the Republic of Argentina to Vietnam commented: “International events like DIFF help to promote the image of Da Nang and Vietnam to the world. In my opinion, Da Nang is one of the leading localities in organizing unique cultural festivals.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Sandeep Arya, the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam – representing one of Da Nang's important tourism markets – shared: “I believe DIFF is becoming a major attraction for international tourists, including those from India. I attended last year and felt the development of the event in both quality and scale.”

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee: "In the next five years, DIFF will receive larger-scale investment to become 'a new growth engine' for the night-time economy, tourism, and the city's brand, in line with Da Nang's development vision towards a green, smart, and modern direction, positioning the city's cultural brand on the regional and international map."

With over a decade of organization, DIFF has transcended the boundaries of a typical fireworks festival, becoming a vibrant cultural symbol of Da Nang. Each fireworks display is not only a blend of art and technique, but also a "story told through light"—much like how Da Nang continuously innovates and creates to touch the hearts of visitors from all over the world.
