Many differences
Unlike other DIFF seasons, DIFF 2025 is the longest and largest fireworks season in the history of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, with 6 fireworks nights and the participation of 10 competing teams from Vietnam, Finland, United Kingdom, Portugal, Poland, Korea, Italy, Canada, China.
DIFF 2025 will feature 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries, with teams from three different continents. Notably, this is the first time the festival has had the participation of 2 Vietnamese teams, including Da Nang and 21 Chemical Company Limited. The remaining 8 teams, in addition to the familiar names of Finland, Poland, China, Canada, Italy, England, this year there are two more teams from Korea and Portugal participating in DIFF for the first time.
DIFF 2025 is organized with 6 official competition nights, each night has a different unique theme:
- Night 1 (May 31): "Cultural Essence" - Vietnam 1 (Da Nang) and Finland.
- Night 2 (June 7): "Creative Art" - Vietnam 2 (Z121) and Poland.
- Night 3 (June 14): "Connecting Journey" - Canada and China.
- Night 4 (June 21): “Sustainable development” - Portugal and UK. Night 5 (June 28): “Technology leads the way” - Korea and Italy.
Final night (July 12): “Welcoming the new era” – Vietnam – China).
“No other country has 10 fireworks teams competing like this. I believe it is absolutely possible to propose to put DIFF 2025 into the Guinness Book of Records” – Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong, CEO of Global 2000, the world's leading fireworks consulting company, affirmed.
The high value of the prizes, the prestigious brand and the increasingly improved quality have turned DIFF into a "high-class playground" for international fireworks artists. At the same time, the event also contributed to attracting attention from the global media, making Da Nang a bright spot on the world event map.
Colonel Tran Thanh Son - Captain of Team Z121 Vina Pyrotech said: "DIFF 2025 is a record competition. Participating is an honor for any fireworks team. With the initial successes of Team Vietnam 2, we will definitely participate in the coming seasons".
This year, DIFF not only has impressive fireworks displays but also brings visitors top-notch experiences with the combination of art, music and technological innovation. Each competition night is a vibrant live concert with the participation of famous domestic and international artists and music idols, combining fireworks, music and modern technology, bringing visitors experiences beyond expectations. In particular, AR technology will be integrated into the Sun Paradise Land (SPL) application, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a world of unlimited imagination and creativity with the Da Nang fireworks sky, creating a strong spread.
The program stage is designed to be open, twice as wide as in 2024, and has become one of the most magnificent stages in the 17-year history of the Da Nang Fireworks Festival.
Mr. Huynh Nam Thang - Vice Chairman, General Director of Sun Group Central Region, said that DIFF 2025 with the theme "Da Nang - New Era", the main stage is designed as a symbol affirming that spirit. The stage is inspired by the typical natural beauty of Da Nang, recreating the majestic image of Ngu Hanh Son by the ocean, with the highlight being the shining pearl in the center, symbolizing the strong aspiration to rise up and constantly innovate of the city of the Han River. The image of mountains and rivers also represents the spirit of harmony and solidarity, true to the message of a "new era" that DIFF 2025 wishes to convey to the people and tourists.
The "boost" that makes Da Nang tourism make a spectacular breakthrough
According to statistics, in just nearly one month of the DIFF 2025 qualifying round (from May 31 to June 30), accommodation establishments in Da Nang served about 1.17 million visitors, an increase of 10.3% over the same period last year. This is a telling figure, clearly reflecting the attractiveness of this festival to domestic and international tourists.
The final night of DIFF 2025 is a "trigger" for Da Nang tourism in the summer of 2025. The number of guests served by accommodation establishments in Da Nang reached nearly 98,000, an increase of 6.4% over the same period in 2024, witnessing a spectacular growth of international visitors (up to 81%) and domestic visitors increased by 18% over the same period. Hotels in coastal areas and the city center are almost fully booked with an occupancy rate of nearly 100%.
Da Nang International Airport witnessed a bustling passenger flow with the total number of domestic and international flights surpassing the record of 2024.
The night before the DIFF 2025 final, the Han River city welcomed 171 flights on July 11, an increase of 14% compared to the estimated average frequency of July 2025 and an increase of 40% compared to the first 6 months of 2025.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, with the support of the DIFF organizer, the city has a unique tourism product like DIFF, contributing significantly to the growth of visitors and spreading the Da Nang brand domestically and internationally.
Mr. Marcos A. Bednarski - Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Vietnam, commented: "International events such as DIFF help promote the image of Da Nang and Vietnam to the world. In my opinion, Da Nang is one of the leading localities in organizing unique cultural festivals."
Meanwhile, Mr. Sandeep Arya, Ambassador of India to Vietnam - representing one of the important tourism markets of Da Nang shared: "I believe DIFF is becoming a big attraction for international tourists, including India. I attended last year and felt the development in both quality and scale of the event".
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee: "In the next 5 years, DIFF will be invested on a larger scale to become "a new growth engine" for the night-time economy, tourism and brand of the city, in line with the vision of developing Da Nang in the direction of green - smart - modern, positioning the city's cultural brand on the regional and international map".
With over a decade of organization, DIFF has gone beyond the framework of a regular fireworks festival, becoming a vibrant cultural symbol of Da Nang. Each fireworks display is not only a blend of art and technology, but also a “story told by light” - just like the way Da Nang constantly creates and innovates to touch the hearts of tourists from all over the world.
