For the first time in history, Vietnam's coffee export turnover not only exceeded the target of 6 billion USD but is expected to approach and surpass 8 billion USD, an increase of nearly 60% compared to last year. If we take 2015 as a benchmark, this figure has also increased approximately threefold.
This export value was also achieved thanks to the record-high export price of Vietnamese coffee. The average price for the year was around over 5,600 USD/ton, with peaks reaching nearly 5,850 USD/ton. Over the past three years, export coffee prices have maintained their highest growth rate and have remained stable around 5,500 USD/ton.
According to experts, Vietnam is benefiting from a double advantage: world coffee prices remain high, while domestic production is stable. Furthermore, the increasing proportion of deeply processed products contributes significantly to boosting export value.
This is a positive sign for the Vietnamese coffee brand as, for the first time, exports of processed coffee products have reached $1 billion. This is something to be proud of, marking a strong shift from exporting quantity to exporting value. Thanks to this development, the profits of coffee growers have also increased two to three times compared to previous years.
